so-soIt was really slow in the beginning. There were parts were I couldnt stop ready and other where I was forcing myself to read it. It's very repetitive and there were details that I feel didnt have any tie to the story. But overall, I thought the book was good I got a clear image of most of the scenes.
At work reading my current book. At first the beginning was slow but as you read on to the 4 or 5 day the main character has spent in her new apartment, things start to speed up. People are being used, murdered, missing and scarying the hell out of Stephanie and to be honest me as well.
so-soA bit more ugly "real life" sexual violence than I usually like in my supernatural fiction but it's undeniably a page-turner. #horror #hauntedhouse

Just starting this one. Was my annual "Christmas Stocking Book" and am looking forward to some hopefully creepy stuff within.
This is what my bookshelves look like when they're actually in order. I'm working on reading through my unread books so I don't have so many rows that are doubled up.
The books in the upper left corner are my nonfiction and manga/TPB comics/graphic novels. Upper right corner are my B&N special edition classics. The books on the bottom are all fiction, but the bookcase on the far right is just for horror. 😀

pickThis was a little on the long side and could have been condensed a little. But I'm really glad I stuck it out for the moments of true horror. It gave me literal chills from creepiness, and I had to put it down and walk away a few times. Definitely check out Nevill's work! I would suggest maybe starting with Apartment 16. #scaryreads
