A bit more ugly "real life" sexual violence than I usually like in my supernatural fiction but it's undeniably a page-turner. #horror #hauntedhouse

I LOVED this biography. It's inspiring and eccentric, just like its subject. I only wish it spent a little more time on his cats, but here's my Margo to make up for that. #biography #arthistory
Wow, this book! Despite the subject matter, an easy read. And such an important one! Truly puts context to the massive multi-layered crisis we're facing. #naturalhistory #extinction
Finished this at work and it was so aggressively not my cup of tea that I feel bad reviewing it. Suffice to say it was a comforting, chaste romance and I'm seriously not into those at all. #fantasy
Still thinking enough about this book to doodle one. Quite an interesting exploration of almost all aspects of our current understanding of these beasts. #paleontology #dinosaur #sauropod #science
Hoping to finish this audiobook today while working on this fossil. Wish I was like the book as much as the work. Oh well.
Stayed up too late reading last night so I really need this today.
I suspect this book isn't my cup of tea, but it's nice to be listening to it while spending time at home with my cats at least.
I LOVED this. Not at all what I was expecting. Melancholy, tragic, hopefull, and intimate. I wish I could find more scifi like this. #scifi
As much a memoir as an exploration of Ice Age America, this book somehow manages to put thousands of years of mysterious history into perspective. I'll never think about land bridges or megafauna the same way again. #prehistory #paleontology #earlyhumans
New week, new read! Been looking forward to this. #biography #art
Am I allowed to listen to a book about space travel while participating in air travel? #scifi
New week, new read! #paleontology #iceage
A charming antidote to much of what is going on in the world right now. We need more good creatures.
Enjoyed this rural multi-generational haunted house tale as well as the way the narration flowed. I'm relying on #horror fiction to give me a lift more and more as the news in the real world gets worse.
Fresh week, fresh read!
I love that I get to listen to books while working. This one was a perfect juxtaposition to actively loving what you're doing while hearing the story.
Interesting view on a classic album which made revisiting the songs both entertaining and thought-provoking. #music
Too big to read on the train so reading at home. #paleontology #dinosaur #sauropod #science
I loved this! It's not often you read fiction by a famous scientist which actually plays with human concerns. It's certainly not a perfect piece of writing, but the context provided in the foreword and afterword elevate the entire book to greatness. #timetravel #dinosaur #paleontology #scifi
Interesting subject matter and an engaging narrator for the audiobook, but a bit "lady other prize" for me. Still, I appreciate the author's intent even if the protagonist never did go to a world where dinosaurs never went extinct. #scifi
Can't wait to get into this one! #dinosaur #timetravel
Wow. This is a sobering read of the type that changes you for the better after the last page is absorbed. Epic in scope, it provides context both culturally and from a natural history perspective about a huge area that shaped the United States yet seldom gets talked. It was a shock to read numerous instances where my hometown was a player, for better and for worse, in historical events. In short, I cried but I loved it. #naturalhistory
But first, my plane read on the way to Denver. #naturalhistory
Had to endure LAX so I found a bookshop in the terminal and bought myself something heavy to carry.
You can now hear me talk about a book I cowrote if you're so inclined:

Definitely epic and intense if a little expansive. Overall I enjoyed it a lot (as well as the narrator, since this was an audiobook) so I wish there were more graduations to our review symbols! #fantasy
A wonderful overview of an important and fascinating site. I wish fruit eating dogs and small rhinos were still extant. #paleontology #rhinos #nebraska #fossil
Like any anthology, there were good stories, so-so stories, and great stories. It did suffer from s bit of repetition of ideas in that several authors explored the same legend, but at least it gave me a bit of Halloween in March. #horror #anthology #halloween
Weekend read. #paleontology #rhinos
These days I get most of my reading done on the train. Hooray for public transportation!
Rough week so we went to the bookstore and... sorry, TBR pile!
Anyone read this? I enjoyed the podcast a lot.
Took me a little while to get into this but now I'm happy to have a long commute so I can listen to more.
Interesting premise and I truly appreciated the setting. I wish we had more than these couple of options for rating things because I did enjoy it a great deal. #horror #gothic #hauntedhouse
Lazy Saturday. Good time to recover from a cold and start an audiobook.
I couldn't go to a writers' conference and not buy a book #WritersDay2019
