Pickpick

This book took awhile to win me over, (I continued only because the GR reviews were so positive) some of the language hurled by men towards Lisane was appalling, but she was more than capable of standing up for herself and others - and the ending was hopeful that a better, more balanced world was beginning. Strong heroine, magic and a sense of destiny... with a hilariously awful 90s cover...

CynCruz23 Some covers are so bad, they're good 😊 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CynCruz23, indeed. Just as some movies are so bad that they become good 😊 7y

Lisane finally hit her bullshit level and put a King in his place!

Had a ridiculously early night yesterday, dreamt that I was really late for work, woke up in a panic at 3am 😬

Hoping to finish this soon!

I spent very little time reading this weekend as I visited Canberra (Australia's capital) for the first time... I was all set for a good read on the plane but the flight ended up being just under an hour... I'd just gotten comfortable!

Anyway, this 'head of Augustus' statue from the history of the world in 100 objects kind of sums up how I feel about the lack of reading time...

CouronneDhiver Good grief... He's creepy looking. 👀 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @CouronneDhiver, that's the first Roman Emperor you're talking about 😉 its the pupils, I think... none of the other busts had them (they were no less creepy looking) 7y
