The cover of this novel might be a bit deceiving. It shows a couple, from behind, in a loving embrace leading the casual observer to believe this a romance novel. There‘s not much romance in it though. This is a family drama, beginning at the end and ending back at the beginning, told from the perspective of each member of the family. It‘s a slow novel, but beautifully written. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Reading this one next. It‘s been on my shelf forever, the long ago part of a “buy 2, get the 3rd free” Barnes & Noble purchase, and is my #bookspin for February.

This book is a classic that most people need to know about. Excellent writing.
