Just a couple things, off the top of my head🧐, that I plan on taking part in during February. Likely there will be other activities/challenges - I look forward to them all.

Thanks &🥂to all the fantastic hosts! You all do a wonderful job🥳🥳

CoverToCoverGirl Well said! That includes you too! 💕 7h

All the Feb wrap-ups I‘ve missed. For the month I read 18 books/4188 pages (not including ongoing reads), 6 NF and 3 books by Black authors (short on that goal). In #FabulousFebruary I read my four planned plus two more books, and in #20in4 I beat my 20-chapter goal by (finishing a book with long chapters and starting one with teeny ones) reading 52!

Slow reading month for February however, I‘m desperately hoping🤞🏻🙏🏻 that March makes up for it.

Thanks to all the wonderful Readathon & Challenge hosts! I apologize in advance to anyone I forgot to tag. Long week & my 🧠only seems to be partially functional. ♥️♥️♥️

TheSpineView It may not be you norm, but still a good reading month. 11mo
ElizaMarie great results!!! I love how you mathed that out! 11mo

DieAReader @ElizaMarie Thanks hun🥰 Thankfully I didn‘t need to math any of it (it‘s still my worst subject, even in life🙄🤣). It‘s all screen caps from my StoryGraph (free version). I just cropped them & arranged ‘em all pretty😁♥️ 11mo
DieAReader @CoverToCoverGirl Merci♥️ It doesn‘t feel like it though (some form of slump I think has taken hold). Hopefully the numbers will be better this month🤞🏻🤞🏻 11mo
DieAReader @TheSpineView Thank you🥰 Maybe it‘s just my headspace right now🧐 There are several different things going on here🤷🏻‍♀️ 11mo

Renato is murdered and officer Imanol Petafunte will be in charge to investigate the case. In these 148 pages we will see a decadence of a community and in the characters that knew Renato: political corruption, decadence in values and moral, prostitution, racism, prejudice,..I liked the writing style but is some parts, (like chunks of good expressions) but for me as a whole, was sometimes confused because some parts were disconnected😬3⭐️

Gissy Candela in my opinion was not the main character but it is the book title😳

I started this book during #FabulousFebruary #Readathon @Andrew65 but I finished it during #InmemoryofSharonreadathon @alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @professionsl_book_dragon

Mixed feelings. I liked the story, how the author, inspired by a song, create a story about what happened to some pregnant African slave women who were thrown overboard by their owners due to sickness or overboard. You will feel how painful is to remember through Yetu‘s voice, responsible to remember to transmit the history, to maintain their identity, pertinence in the community but so hard😢Some parts for me were isolated from the story. 3.7⭐️

Gissy Love the cover. The paperback cover in my opinion is prettier than the hardcover.

Mix feelings with this novel. There are three different stories that are interconnected as a way to explain the creation of Liberia. I loved the story and the beautiful writing style narrated by the author who has a pleasant, soft voice and was amazing to understand each character. Love Gbessa, the witch. But the use of magical realism in the story in my opinion took some beauty away from the story, was like reading a superhero story😬3.75/3.8⭐️

Gissy I have to admit that magical realism not always works for me😳 Love that cover😍

Inspired by a true event, the author will recreate a story of how would be the life of Mary Lumpkin, a mixed race woman, who had 5 children with Robert Lumpkin, known for his cruelty during his period in that jail between 1844 to 1865. The author provides references of these events and explains what motivated her to write this story. So sad and I know it was worse in the real time. Love the story and the writing style. 4⭐️

Gissy Love the gifts because they were so related with the characters. I love that cover😍You will identify with Pheby 💛

Starting this month‘s #20in4 #readathon by continuing to read this month‘s #LiteraryCrew #BuddyRead . I‘m entranced by this and absolutely hate having to put it down for IRL distractions (work, chores…you get the idea!).

I‘m hoping to hit 20 hours over the next several days, ticking more off of my tbr stack. Incidentally, I read over 17 hours out of the 20 hours I had hoped to read for #FabulousFebruary , which I forgot the post earlier!

Librarybelle #Zeke and #SebastianKitty are cheering me on for this early morning reading session. #catsoflitsy 11mo
