Amber House
Amber House | Kelly Moore, Larkin Reed, Tucker Reed
3 posts | 5 read | 3 to read
"I was sixteen the first time my grandmother died . . ." Sarah Parsons has never seen Amber House, the grand Maryland estate that's been in her family for three centuries. She's never walked its hedge maze nor found its secret chambers; she's never glimpsed the shades that haunt it, nor hunted for lost diamonds in its walls. But all of that is about to change. After her grandmother passes away, Sarah and her friend Jackson decide to search for the diamonds--and the house comes alive. She discovers that she can see visions of the house's past, like the eighteenth-century sea captain who hid the jewels, or the glamorous great-grandmother driven mad by grief. She grows closer to both Jackson and a young man named Richard Hathaway, whose family histories are each deeply entwined with her own. But when the visions start to threaten the person she holds most dear, Sarah must do everything she can to get to the bottom of the house's secrets, and stop the course of history before it is cemented forever.

#3Books I read based solely on their covers
@OriginalCyn620 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

- I loved the cover and the book, and the sequel. Don't know if I'll ever get the third book since the one author (it's a mother and daughters trio) pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her uncle.
- Isn't it a gorgeous cover? I didn't love the book, but that cover made it worth it.
- the cover model is the one that created the photo, which is beyond awesome.

OriginalCyn620 Great covers! 4y

I found this book in early summer around the time it came out...and then it sort of became a loose tradition of mine to read it every summer. I love books about homes/mansions/estates...and this was no exception! The family history is all very interesting to me. It reminded me of a mix of The Thorn Birds and Great Expectations in some ways. I also love the 2nd book in this series, but not quite as much as the 1st. I so look forward to the finale!
