Listful Thinking
Listful Thinking: Using Lists to Be More Productive, Successful and Less Stressed | Paula Rizzo
10 posts | 10 read | 6 to read
What do Madonna, Martha Stewart, John Lennon, Ellen DeGeneres, Ben Franklin, Ronald Reagan, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, and Johnny Cash have in common? Each is (or was) a list maker. These successful people, along with CEOs and successful entrepreneurs, all use lists to keep track of their ideas, thoughts, and tasks. Finding enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished and allow for some downtime can be a struggle. It's no wonder so many of us are stressed, overextended, and exhausted. More than half of all American employees feel overwhelmed, according to a study by the nonprofit Family and Work Institute. For the 54 percent of us who feel like were chasing our own tails, Listful Thinking is here to prove that it doesn't have to be that way. You can still find time to relax, read a good book, and do the things you love. Listful Thinking is the book that will give readers their lives back with indispensible tips on saving time, getting organized, improving productivity, saving money, and reducing stress.

This is mostly a rehashing of the Get Things Done method.

I‘m already a list maker, so this was a little boring to me.

As an avid list-maker, it seems appropriate that I put my review in list form.
Pros:
1. Stresses the many ways lists are helpful & important
2. Discusses the different types of lists & helpful list making tools (apps & websites)
3. Opened my eyes to many outsourcing methods
Cons:
1. Some information is not for everyone
2. The author repeatedly mentions her website as a resource, but I found her website hard to navigate & not very helpful

I may just be listening to this to justify my obsession with lists. #everydaylistmaker

Everything in this book seemed pretty obvious.

Smangela I often have that trouble with personal development books 😑 maybe one or two tidbits that are useful and the rest seems obvious! 7y
Aswenson @Smangela I totally agree. 95% of those books are just common sense! 7y
Rachael_reads @Aswenson @Smangela I also completely agree. I was on the fence about listening to it, but it was only three hours and I needed something to listen to while working. I usually find these types of books pointless. Lol 7y
Aswenson @rachel_reads They definitely have some tempting titles and topics! I've certainly given in before on a good deal or an intriguing title. 🙂 7y
Smangela @Rachael_reads @Aswenson yes agreed! I want to like them and get more out of them all the time hahaha 7y

TheKidUpstairs @Cspen113 I didn't know it was even on outside of Canada! David is awesome. I love Alexis, she's just so pure in her way that you can't be annoyed at how crazy she is. And Catherine O'Hara is one of my favourite people in the world. 8y

Well this isn't very helpful.

Donna_sBookMinute This can be quite frustrating. Just as I was getting the hang of when to request books on Hoopla, a change was made; and I no longer experience this. Is this with Hoopla? 8y
DGRachel I've gotten this several times. Frustrating! 8y
angrylilasian Oh no! I've never seen this message. Why is there a daily limit? 8y
EliNeedsMoreShelves Whaaat??? 😕 8y
