While I was with my mom, we also went to the flea market. My area of Ohio has some awesome flea markets. I am fortunate to live by one of the best ones, The Hartville Flea Market. I scored big, because a seller had apparently decided to give up and go home and left their stuff at the trash can. Yep, I dug books out of the trash. To be fair, they were in a box and not in the trash can, but my son was pretty embarrassed just the same #sorrynotsorry

😱 Local newspaper reported this evening that the used bookstore I mentioned earlier today (that closed) filled a dumpster in the alley behind the store with all of its books. 😮 What? People found out and have been dumpster diving for books. Can you believe that? I wish I had known when I was there this afternoon!

jpmcwisemorgan What? I hope they rescue all the books and at least donate them someplace. I'm sure someone could benefit. Also, books that go to landfills don't break down, they're compressed and take up space - same with other paper products like newspapers. 7y
Aseleener @jpmcwisemorgan Someone commented on FB saying they took about 100 of them to the jail. People seem pretty outraged, so hopefully something will be done about the rest. 7y
jpmcwisemorgan Oh, good. I don't understand why the owners just didn't make large donations to various places because doing so would have been a tax deduction. I wonder what's going on. 7y

Megabooks At first I thought you meant 100 people that were dumpster diving went to jail!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ 7y
Joybishoptx That is kind of weird. Why not just give as many of them away as you can? Goodwill? 7y
TrishB 😔😔 sad! 7y
CocoReads Why? Why not give them away or donate them? I'm glad people found out and were able to get some books. But I'm sad for them just being tossed out like that. 7y
