This was an interesting read about a photographer‘s journey in covering a Doctors Without Borders mission in Afghanistan during the mid-1980s. The greatest thing about this graphic novel is how it incorporates the photos from the experience. 4/5

This nonfiction graphic memoir brings us in Afghanistan in 1986 with Doctors Without Borders. We follow the experience of Didier Lefèvre, the photographer of the mission.
It's a very interesting and humbling book. The illustrations complete and put into context the photographs. From the organization of the mission to mishaps and medical procedures, this book opens a perfect window into this NGO.
It's a shame this book is too big to carry with me everywhere, but I love the conversations about Afghan culture.

Very powerful and eye opening read!!! Mix of comics strips and real photos from Afghan war in 1986.
I took a brief break from work and walked across the street to my local library to pick up my holds... both of which I can #blameitonlitsy 😂 I put the Kendrick book on hold back in November (when everyone seemed to be reading it) and it is finally my turn. The Photographer is a more recent hold and I can thank @LukkiAnn for that one! #librarybookhaul #libraryhaul
