The thrilling final installment of Chloe Neill's New York Times bestselling urban fantasy series sees a sinister sorcery advancing across Chicago, and it may usher in the fall of Cadogan House... Since the night of her brutal attack and unwilling transformation to vampire, Merit's stood as Sentinel and protector of Chicago's Cadogan House. She's saved the Windy City from the forces of darkness time and again with her liege and lover, Ethan Sullivan, by her side. When the House is infiltrated and Merit is attacked by a vampire seemingly under the sway of dark magic, Merit and Ethan realize the danger is closer than they could have ever imagined. As a malign sorcery spreads throughout the city, Merit must go to war against supernatural powers beyond her comprehension. It's her last chance to save everything--and everyone--she loves.

I was so looking forward to completing the last book in this series and then being able to put it to bed, so to speak and you could after this one if you wanted. Merit & company did not disappoint in this one, with love, friendship, quick and unexpected plot twists, and as always a great adventure, but That ending, and the premise for the new spin-off series, I'm completely onboard now to follow through with the next great adventure for Chicago!

These books always make me smile/laugh. I am sad the series has ended but excited to read the spinoff when it comes out.

Hahaha! I love a heroine that reads....AND wants her wedding in a library!

Johanna414 My husband and I did some of our engagement photos in our public library! Obviously they were my favorite ones ❤️❤️💍 7y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam It's a fun paranormal with some definite romance, but personally I just love reading it for the fun banter. There are actually a few series I've enjoyed just for the smile and chuckle they give me, if you need any other recommendations. 7y
ScientistSam Ooh, witty banter! I'm always up for more recommendations 😉 7y
StephanieMarie I got engaged in my favourite used book store! I wish our library was big enough for a wedding that would be amazing! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @StephanieMarie I know right! Sounds awesome! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam I've also enjoyed the Charley Davidson series, and this one is good on audiobook too... first book is 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam The Parasol Protectorate which is also great on audio...first book is 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam And I also like The Iron Druid Series (also great on audiobook)... first book is 7y
ScientistSam Ooh, definitely need to check out First Grave on the Right. I've read lots of Gail Carriger - she's so much fun! I've read Hounded but was thinking I should read more in the series. Thanks for the recommendations! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam Iron Druid is just great on audio, the narrator does a great job with Atticus and Oberon. I've also enjoyed Molly Harper writing too, quite funny...but I've only read the first one so far, which is 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @ScientistSam Another good series is from Jeanine Frost 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BarbaraTheBibliophage Oh yes! I'll second that one too! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam The Dresden File is fantastic too. The first is 7y
ScientistSam Yes, they certainly are! I love them😀 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @ScientistSam Me too! His new series is wonderful too, The Cinder Spires 7y

I am finally getting around to this (usually I pick new releases up right away). I honestly think I was putting it off because I don't want the series to end. It seems like many of my favorite book series are ending lately 😭

A solid wrap up with everything you could want in the Chicagoland Vampire series. Merit and Ethan once again step up to save Chicago and their wedding day both with swords AND sarcastic snark. A girl couldn't ask for anything more! And stay tuned for the spinoff Chicagoland series that'll satisfy any lingering cravings for more fangs and fun in the Windy City.

I'm not sure if I was ready for this series to end, but I'm hoping for a great spin-off. http://bambi-unbridled.blogspot.com/2017/04/arc-review-blade-bound-by-chloe-neil...

Sometimes A series hits this point where we know it needs to be over. I feel like the Chicagoland vampires was about to head that way so I'm not saddened by the ending. This was an amazing ending to a great series. Ethan and Merit finally act as the couple they were meant to be. Super swoon worthy moments, yummy Chocolate dreams, major kick butt moments and a little snark for fun.
