One of my favorite series, never fails to raise my spirits.

There‘s several theories on where #BiteTheBullet came from. The most well known is that before there were anesthetics & soldiers had to endure painful procedures during the war, they would bite a bullet to distract them from the pain & keep them from biting their tongue or screaming.
Taking a different turn with this one from a favorite paranormal series. Jane Jameson is a librarian who is fired, gets drunk & then is shot by a ⬇️
This is a reread for me. Love the character of Jane. She is intelligent and doesn't take crap from anyone. Her snarky dialog makes for some humorous scenes. The plot was fast paced and the characters worked so well with the story. I can picture a group of undead living in a small, rural town in the south. Makes for funny goodness. 4.5 ⭐️ #Scarathlon2022 @StayCurious #TeamMonsterMash

I post about these books often so it‘s no secret that Jane Jameson is my favorite #vampire along with Gabriel, Andrea, Dick Cheney (the vampire not the VP) & all the other vampires in Half-Moon Hollow. The audiobooks are my favorite because Molly Harper‘s snarky humor comes across even better when it‘s narrated by Amanda Ronconi. 🧛🏻♀️🖤🧛🏻♂️

For bottle, I had to go with another Jane Jameson quote about Jane Austen.🖤❤️😉
“I nuked a bottle of Faux Type O and pored over my personal library for something that would settle me. As usual, I came back to my dear Jane. Whenever I get restless or stressed I revisit Mansfield Park. Because I know that no matter how rough my life gets, at least I don‘t have to wear a corset and live with a stone-cold witch like Mrs. Norris.”
#QuotsyAug21 #single
I love that Jane Jameson loves Jane Austen & share her feelings when I read Persuasion.😉
“I returned my attention to poor, persevering Anne Elliot. Once again, I wondered how she managed to go so many chapters without bitch-slapping every single person she came in contact with. I actually wrote a paper about it in college. My professor deducted points for using the phrase ‘bitch-slap‘ in the title. It was totally worth it.”
On my #bookquilt because it introduced me to Molly Harper, who is my go to author when I want snarky, sexy fun. She also helped get me back into romance.
#20Series20Days @Andrew65
Loved these books about Jane Jameson and how she became a vampire and the aftermath. They were funny and the MC was smart and had a snarky attitude. I know at some point I'll read these again.
This audio book was an amusing delight at every turn. I laughed the whole way through the protagonist's vampire adventure. She had a snappy, sarcastic, southern sense of humor that I appreciated. The book is perfect for lighthearted stress relief.
#QuotsyMar20 #control
Playing Catch-up. The chapters in the Jane Jameson books start with helpful advice from handbooks for new vampires. 🧛🏻♀️
“You cannot control your family‘s reaction to your new lifestyle. You can only control your reaction to your family. It‘s best if that reaction does not include eating your family.”
—From The Guide for the Newly Departed

Didn‘t get this posted yesterday:
“Mama and I trenched ourselves in a sullen silence. Poor Daddy just looked back and forth between the two of us, like some spectator held prisoner at a tennis match.”
#QuotsyFeb20 #league
Catching up from yesterday:
“She was wearing another slick pink dress suit and fluffing her blond curls back into their “Junior League gone slightly slutty” style.”
#Quotsy2020 #stuff
I have family that arrived Sunday for 10 days & a full work schedule & I am behind on most things. 😬Catching up on yesterday‘s “stuff” prompt. And I fully agree with this quote. 😉
“Anyone can show up for stuff like graduations and birthdays. Only the people who truly love you will help you move.”
#QuotsyJan20 #ditch
Jane Jameson was walking home after a bad day, mistook for a deer by a hunter, shot & fell into a ditch then turned into a vampire...
“Look, I don‘t want to tell the whole long sordid story, OK? Someday, when I‘m very drunk, I‘ll tell you. The bottom line is, I had no choice. It was either vampirism or lying dead in a ditch. Though over the last day or so, I‘ve been wondering whether I should have gone with door number two.”
#SoaringScores
Fired from a library job, car breaks down, walking home on dark country roads, mistaken for a deer & shot by a drunk hunter, then turned into a vampire is not #HowIWouldDie but it‘s how Jane Jameson did & now she has a pretty good (after)life in Half-Moon Hollow. I know I use Harper‘s books often for posts but the Cullens of Twilight are way too angsty. I‘d much rather hang out & laugh with snarky Jane & her friends.🧛🏻♀️🧛🏻♂️🖤
This book reminded me of Sookie Stackhouse a little. Jane becomes fired, drunk, broke down, shot, and woke up a vampire! Not the typical girl next door anymore, Jane has to figure out what being a vampire entails and find out who is trying to frame her for murder. The characters a well written, the plot is a little predictable but it was an enjoyable read!!
Bailing at 37 pages. Normally I don‘t bail that quickly but I just don‘t like the MC at all. Seemed like it would be totally up my alley but I can‘t get into it. Reading and watching the Twilight Saga with my pups bc the last few days have been way too peopley.
Molly Harper creates such fun and quirky small towns & communities in her various series, she makes me want to live in these #imaginaryplaces or at least visit & hang out with her characters. Three are set in the south, one in Alaska. Three are chock full of paranormals & strange happenings & one is full of 'normal' but eccentric family members who run the McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop.
All of them make me laugh... 🤣

This was a fun audiobook to accompany a long solo drive to Florida. A children's librarian loses her job AND gets turned into a vampire on one bad night. Now she has to figure out vampire life....
Yawning kitties have fangs. 😂 Terrible picture but thr mid-yawn face cracked me up, and I‘m so happy to have both cats snuggling me today. ❤️
Sick day reading today - I just woke up from a 4 hour nap and I still feel achy.
I thought this book was a lot if fun, but about half through I figured out who the villain is and it became really tedious, especially when our clever protagonist held suspicions about a completely unlikely candidate. 🙄 Given that she had the same information I did, she should have been able to figure it out. Oh well. Like I said, still fun.
My latest #Etsy purchase. Love Molly Harper and especially this series. #bookishthings #favoriteauthors #favoritecharacters
Cute audio book about a vampire who was a children's librarian. Reminds me of a paranormal Stephanie Plum story. While I liked it, I probably won't bother getting the rest of the books.
I was looking for something fun and light hearted. I am hoping that this fits the bill. #Audible #librarianwithsjarpteeyh
When my TBR is getting too heavy or I just need a fun romp, these authors are my go-to #PalateCleansers! The world would be dark place without #MollyHarper #KatieMacAlister #LynsaySands or #VickieLewisThompson! These dames and their books are quite simply the best!
#FeistyFeb @RealLifeReading #PalateCleanser
I loved this book! Although I like a good paranormal romance, it's even better with snark! if you haven't read up on Jane Jameson or Half-moon Hollow antics do it now, you won't regret it. #romantsy
Day29 #booktober #supernaturalbeings Vampires, werewolves, shifters, witches, ghosts... Half Moon Hollow has them all. I love this series-they are like catnip on my Kindle. Fun & funny, they have the 4-S's that I look for in a comfort read... Smart, Snarky, & they make me Snicker & frequently Snort-laugh. The first 4 books featuring children's librarian, turned vampire Jane Jameson are my faves but there's another 10 great related books & stories.
Love it love it love it! One of the best series I've ever come across. I highly recommend audio version with Amanda Ronconi narrating. I think I've gone through the whole series at least three times
#FunFridayPhoto the character I most identify with is Jane Jameson! She is ridiculously accident prone, has an "interesting" family, a need to take care of everyone, the worst and best luck, and is obsessed with books! If you haven't read these books, do so ASAP!
This was a fun one, with laugh out loud one liners and hearty but loving stabs at Southern traditions and values. (I've finally got my blog up and running at doddyaboutbooks.wordpress.com and have a fuller review there if you would like to check it out.)
There are some great lines in this book. I know them feels.
I'm such a sucker for an audible sale - picked this up for $4.95 US. So far it's fun with some great one liners :)
