pickSo, this was a fun fantasy frolic, if a bit on the gory side — lots of graphic killing, so tw for that. Harry Dresden makes an interesting, contemporary wizard — magic with common sense, and a huge need to do good in the world but also pay the bills. The contrasts were sharp in this book, with the underlying theme of the battle between good and evil, specifically within the self. Who are we really, when the question is asked?
Started a new one on my lunch break — magic and murder and werewolves, oh my!

One of Marcone‘s men is killed horribly so Murphy gives in & calls Harry for help, story takes off from there.
FBI agents show up. People can change into werewolves at will. Including Harry.
FUN! I enjoyed the variety of werewolves & Marcone is a good character to oppose yet help Harry.

pickThis is book 2 in the series and I liked it better than book one. There was more character development and world building for one. Also, the pace of this one was better and I liked the story. 4⭐

pickI think I'm falling in like with the hot mess that is Harry Dresden!
James Marsters is great in this role and for me is the main reason that I'm looking at the rest of the series because he just works for me as this character. I cannot imagine another actor in this role so definitely looking for book 3 if nothing more than I get to listen to Marsters yet again.

I don‘t normally drink coffee but today is an iced coffee kind of day. I have testing at work and a sinus head ache to go with it. So I will be sipping on, or chugging, my coffee and listening to my audio book while I get through the testing!!
pickAbsolutely loved the second installment of the Dresden Files. It took me a long time to get into this book. It starts slower than the first but after coming back to it multiple times it clicked and I couldn‘t put it down! I absolutely love the characters Jim Butcher created and can‘t get enough of them! Already bought the next one!
About three things I was absolutely positive. First, it‘s finally clean. Second, I can not fold to save my life! Third, I‘m tired and ready for a bubble bath!! 🤣🤣 #hehtwilight #audiocleaning
I decided to do some audio cleaning and go through my closet for donations and just a general re-arrange. This is what is happening!! It‘s spilled out of the closet and covered most of my bedroom floor!!! Oh man there was so much more stuff in there than I thought!! 😭😭 more time for my audio book!! 🤣

so-soMy recommendation would be to skip Storm Front and go directly into this one. It recaps things well and it doesn‘t feel like you‘d be missing out on anything big. Fools Moon was a great installment but only a ⭐️⭐️⭐️. In the last half there were some f bombs and a brief sensual scene that‘s easily skipped. Wouldn‘t recc for a teenager to read this series tho.

Have done the first two books by audiobook so might give it one more chance and do a physical read, perhaps just not working for me on audiobook format, some books don‘t.
