Here‘s the story of my pick for #evilwoman. I grew up going to what I thought was a regular church. But, it was really a cult and I didn‘t figure that out until after I left in my 20s. This woman was a money-hungry narcissist who started the cult and built it like a church. Main precept? Only prayer and never medicine. So her followers end up slowly dying, while she took pain medicine herself. She was hypocritical and truly evil. #octoberxfiles

Graywacke Wow, Barbara. What an terrible person she must have been. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Graywacke Yes, she was delusional and got so many others to buy into her delusion. 6y
LauraJ Good pick. That neighbor I found dead was a follower. Antibiotics would have saved his life. 6y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @LauraJ OMG—I didn‘t realize that you found a neighbor dead, or certainly that he was a follower. I‘ve lost family to completely treatable illnesses. It‘s tragic and horrible. 6y
CarolynM 😱😢 6y
Mdargusch So evil! That is a terrible story @BarbaraTheBibliophage and @LauraJ 6y
Cinfhen OMG, I had to read this a few times to process. I‘m at a loss for words but so glad you found a way out, Barbara. And what a tragedy @LauraJ 6y
LauraJ @BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘m glad you had the critical thinking skills and courage to leave it behind. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen @Mdargusch @CarolynM @LauraJ Thanks friends. ♥️ I‘m glad I got out as young as I did, although it‘s amazing how long the after effects last. I‘ll never question my grit and strength, since if I did that I can survive anything. 6y
Cinfhen What do I always say about you... #badass #rebelreader and now I know I‘m right 🙌🏻💪🏼❤️😘 you amaze me 6y
Leftcoastzen It must of been absolutely surreal in your brain when you realized , wow! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Hahaha! I guess so ... 😛 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Leftcoastzen Pretty much. But it was also about wanting birth control and liking beer, just like lots of other kids. 😎 6y
Leftcoastzen It is that hey why does everyone get to do this but me?You were brave .A unique adolescent challenge most won‘t have to face. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Leftcoastzen Yes, the beer was FOMO. Going to the GYN for the first time by myself—first doc ever was scary as shit. Hard to picture my younger self in that moment. And of course he was a misogynist prick also. It‘s quite a story. 6y
Leftcoastzen OMG!I bet , I think I had it easier because I went to a Planned Parenthood filled with women. My mom knew too many docs and I didn‘t want her to know.😊 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Leftcoastzen Yeah, it‘s weird I never ended up there. Would have made total sense! 6y
Centique Omg Barbara - what an incredible story! Huge kudos to you for getting out. 😍 6y
