Two of these are internet orders (the tagged one and Devil's Trill), and everything else came from Half Price Books. I did sell a big tote back to them, but of course I spent more than that by the time I was done. 🤷🏻‍♀️
#bookhaul 💸💸💸

drokka I can't imagine there would be much to a book about Queen Victoria's Scottish Diaries seeing as her daughter burnt most of them. 7y
Lcsmcat @drills According to Julia Baird's biography there were people in the Royal Archives who made copies of and then hid some of the papers that were thought to have been destroyed. It'll be interesting @laurabrook, to hear about what's in there. 7y
Readerann Gerald Elias (Devil's Trill) lives in Salt Lake City and came to our book group! He even played his violin for us (he was a member of the Utah Symphony as well as other orchestras). Great to see you bought his book. 7y

LauraBrook @drokka There's stuff in there, plus photographs and illustrations. Will be interesting regardless of depth! ❤️ 7y
LauraBrook @Lcsmcat That's interesting! Like so many of my books, that Julia Baird is still unread. 🤷🏻‍♀️ That just means there's a lot to look forward to! 7y
LauraBrook @Readerann Wow, that's so awesome that he played for you at your book group! ❤️🎶 It was a musical recommendation from @Lcsmcat, she knows him and (I think) lives there too! You could be local Litsians! 🙌🏼 7y
Lcsmcat @Readerann, My husband was the bass trombonist with the Utah Symphony from '89 to 2011. We're not in SLC anymore. Are you there? Do you have a connection with the orchestra? Gerry played at my book group too, but he's a friend. I didn't know how often he did that. 7y
LeahBergen The tagged one sounds awesome! 👍🏼 7y
Readerann @Lcsmcat I don't have a connection with the orchestra (other than enjoying their music)! A friend heard that Gerald accepted book group invitations, and he came to talk about Devil's Trill. He performs here in SLC occasionally, usually connected with a non-profit. Talented guy! (edited) 7y
