Black women were being preyed upon in South Central LA in the 1980s, including those raped and murdered by the man who came to be called the Grim Sleeper. This book tells the story of the women, their murders, and the investigation on through the verdict. It‘s well balanced and doesn‘t overly focus on the perpetrator. I didn‘t want to put it down and would definitely recommend it to true crime fans.

squirrelbrain Sounds fascinating - stacked. 3y
Bookzombie Stacked! I didn‘t realize it when I read it but this Ivy Pochoda book is loosely based on this serial killer. 3y
Hooked_on_books @Bookzombie That‘s interesting! I may have to check that out. 3y

I had not heard of this serial killer until looking for books on serial killers. The book moved more slowly that it could have.
