The food court in Montréal's central train station has beautiful paintings of books on the walls. Perfect for reading and enjoying my second breakfast.

I‘m going to Montreal tomorrow for a long weekend! I‘ve done basically NO research or planning, was going to read a couple guides on the short plane ride there. Anyone have any bookish (or otherwise) recommendations?? 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Cinfhen No, but have fun!! Im sure it'll be awesome ❣️ 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 I don‘t know any in Quebec but if you travel the other way west I could be of help. Sorry ☺️ Have a great trip ❤️❤️❤️ 7y
merelybookish Jealous! Montreal is my favourite place! Mordecai Richler has novels about old-school Jewish Montreal. Heather O'Neill writes quirky books set in Montreal. 7y

DebinHawaii I was there a couple years ago to facilitate at a conference and just had one day in the city that I spent walking around Old Montreal, eating, shopping and looking at churches. The Notre-Dame Basilica is amazing but I liked the older, smaller Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Church & Museum better. (I'm not Catholic or very religious but I love looking at the history. I don't have any good bookish suggestions though. The food was awesome. Have fun! 7y
CouronneDhiver The hop-on-hop-off bus is good fun... it‘ll give you a good idea of which attractions appeal to you ? J‘ai aimé le vieux port, la basilique et le planétarium. Bon voyage! 7y
LeahBergen Are you vegetarian? If not, go to Schwartz‘s Deli for a Montreal smoked meat sandwich. ❤️ 7y
Cathythoughts Soooo exciting! Someplace I really want to go someday ! Enjoy 💫 7y
Lindy The Musée des beaux-arts. Only drawback is you could spend an entire day there. ? 7y
AmyG Have a great trip! 7y

For #ItWasAGoodDay I'm sharing some pictures from my recent trip to Quebec. Each day of the trip was great! I'd love to read some more books set in Canada, especially Montreal or Quebec. Suggestions welcome! #90sinJuly @Robothugs @Cinfhen

Robothugs It looks amazing there! 7y
MallenNC @Robothugs I loved it! But was glad I was there in spring - too cold in winter for me. 7y
TheKidUpstairs Quebec City is such a beautiful place. I got engaged there ❤😁 My brain is tired at the moment, but I'll send you some more Canadian lit suggestions in the morning when I can think properly 😉 Tagged one set in Montreal in the 90s. 7y

I have a good excuse for not getting in much reading this week! My first trip to Montreal, Canada, where I visited several amazing places. My favorite was Notre Dame Basilica, pictured here. Now that I'm back I can catch up on my books!

LauraBrook Wow, that's beautiful! 7y
MallenNC @LauraBrook It was gorgeous! My picture doesn't do it justice. 7y

Laalaleighh Omg! Great 📸! Sounds like a perfect vacay! 7y
MallenNC @Laalaleighh It was great! I'm glad I was there in the spring though. I doubt I could handle Canadian winter. 7y

At our Airbnb in Montreal! ??? Sadly, they are all en français.

TobeyTheScavengerMonk If you need any sentences about whether or not a man is wearing a hat translated, my high school French skills have got you covered. 8y
lynneamch And I can remember how to ask where the bibliotechque is. 😁📚. Hope you're having a great time. 8y
CouronneDhiver That's not sad at all... steal a couple for me! My town's library hardly carries anything in French. 😉 8y
