When Drix was convicted of a crimeone he didn't commithe thought his life was over. But opportunity came with the new Second Chance Program, the governor's newest pet project to get delinquents off the streets, rehabilitated and back into society. Drix knows this is his chance to get his life back on track, even if it means being paraded in front of reporters for a while. Elle knows she lives a life of privilege. As the governor's daughter, she can open doors with her name alone. But the expectations and pressure to be someone she isn't may be too much to handle. She wants to follow her own path, whatever that means. When Drix and Elle meet, their connection is immediate, but so are their problems. Drix is not the type of boy Elle's parents have in mind for her, and Elle is not the kind of girl who can understand Drix's messy life. But sometimes love can breach all barriers. Fighting against a society that can't imagine them together, Drix and Elle must push themselvesDrix to confront the truth of the robbery, and Elle to assert her independenceand each other to finally get what they deserve.

I unshelved 5 more books for #MarchUnshelfing today. Which makes a total of 27. I'm proud of me! Now I can buy new books 😁😂

•I Really had a hard time reading Say You'll Remember Me and decided to DNF it after reading 60%.
•Everything, Everything isn't for me anymore. I liked it when I was younger but now I don't like it anymore.
• The Summer I turnes Pretty trilogy isn't for me anymore.

@Clwojick

Clwojick Awesome!!! I agree with you on Everything, Everything. I read it once, and kept the copy... but thinking about it now, I know I won‘t reread it. There‘s just too many books out there to read as it is. I don‘t have time for rereads unless they‘re childhood favourites, or Ellen Hopkins lol. 5y
MartinaLove @Clwojick I agree. I don't re-reads books. But I keep the ones I love to grow my collection. Maybe one day I'll re-read the ones I love. I give a lot of books to La Barque, where I live. They have a small bookstore and they sell them for 1$. 5y

I was lucky enough to meet Katie last year and was a huge fan of her newest book at that time and felt honored to have that time with her. Since then I've read 5 more of her titles and each have characters and dialog that feel so real it's easy to think they were transcribed rather than fictional. Thank you, Katie, for breathing life into your characters so readers can see themselves and their feelings reflected in the books that you write.

I mean I "finished" the book by skipping 150 pages and just reading the last 60 but that's WAY more than I thought I would actually do. This book is the example of why I tend to hate contemporaries.

Holy Teen Romance Batman!
Beautiful rich girl falls for gorgeous bad bad boy. They want to be together, but know that they shouldn't. Will they overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of their true love?
On a serious note, this book is lovely and raises some important issues surrounding the class and justice system in America.

1️⃣ Say You‘ll Remember Me by Katie McGarry, 450 pages, Before the Devil Breaks You at 21 hrs 25 min. I generally avoid reading books in print over 400 pages. #thatswhataudioisfor
2️⃣ Any Molly Harper Book
3️⃣ Legally it‘s just an “S”, but in the family it‘s Sue (my moms first name)
4️⃣ Cooking, I wish I had the patience for it, the skill to just know what to do and have it turn out amazing.

Elle and Drix couldn‘t be more different, but sometimes the most unlikely of people come together to help each other become who they are meant to be...

McGarry crafts deep and complex characters. Readers will get sucked into the lives of these characters and never want to let them go.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Governor‘s daughter falls for the poster boy of her father‘s Second Chance program aimed to help him get his life on track after pleading guilty to a crime he didn‘t commit. I really liked Drix but Elle was a bit annoying even though I sympathized with her. Read by two narrators who did a great job on the recording.

I loved this book. I liked Drix‘s POV best. I think this is definitely an idealized view of how someone can change. But it was a sweet book. Elle‘s parents were infuriating. I found that situation stressful.
