I've got my April book for #ReadWithMrBook. Honest Dog Books in Bayfield, WI has a "Surprise Me" option. For $16 you send them information about what you like to read and they send you a book and a button. This is perfect. I've had this on my list to read since it came out, but just never purchased a copy.

This book is full of the fairly well known facts about the quakes but it puts them into a nice story format. It also adds great back story to the people involved and the locations; you wouldn't get that in other books. If you are looking for a general story of the quakes and those whom experienced it, this is your book.
For today‘s #throwbackthursday we go back to today in Mississippi in 1995, when the 13th amendment officially abolishing slavery was finally ratified by the state. The drama doesn‘t cease there though. The ratification wasn‘t submitted to the archivist until 2013, after the movie Lincoln was released. Better late than never.
