Enamored of this book and this unique world! Read by Robin Miles to make it even more delightful

Had so much promise, Latinx, lesbian love interest, but it just fell flat and read like every other YA dystopian instalove book. I had to make myself finish it.

I was on the wait list forever for this. It‘s so worth the wait!

You‘d think the serial killer would be the worst person in the book..... I can‘t even believe how all the hospitals cared more about CYA

I love a story that follows multiple people and multiple timelines. I felt the racism of the time was laid bare in such away that the reader could see that it was awful without specific comment from the author. Then Evelyn went to a black church and I felt like she was visiting a zoo and it kinda lost me. Overall, I‘d give it a pick, with a caveat about the racism. I wish the relationship between Idgie and Ruth had been more explicitly stated.

Really enjoying this. I don‘t think I even knew this was a book until I read an article about the movie being straightwashed. I ran straight to the library and got on the long waitlist at the library. Apparently everyone else read the same article! 😂

My daughter and I just loved this Korean Space Opera! Strong female lead, non-binary main character and I could never guess what would happen next. We can‘t wait for book 2!

My son and I watched the movie and he liked it so much he asked for the book. So far, the book, read by Dennis Quaid, is great. But skip the first chapter, unless you want an extremely graphic description of pilot deaths.

Pride and Prejudice with dragons? Yes, please!

Reminded me of why I don‘t read books by white men anymore. It wasn‘t terrible, but had enough weird misogyny throughout that I‘m wondering why I stuck with it. (I listened to this and the narrator made the women sound even worse than they were written. I suggest reading it if you are interested in this title.)

Listening with my 12yo, and we were immediately hooked. I think this is the best Rick Riordan presents so far. We haven‘t gotten into the others.

When my best reader friend heard I hadn‘t read this trilogy, she insisted I start right away. I‘m so glad she did. I‘m loving it from the very start!

Fun return to Faerie! Can‘t wait for the next installment

Read this with my 12yo, and it was a delight. The main character isn‘t your typical middle grade good little girl. We loved her more for all her faults, and the story was pretty original. This was my first time to listen to Bronson Pinchot narrate. I know he‘s thought of highly, and his normal voice is nice, but when the female character spoke he was so soft and whispery it was hard to hear. 👍🏻 book 👎🏻 narration

It‘s your basic blogger memoir. Nothing deep or illuminating about traveling the world. I‘d love to travel the world with my kids, so I enjoyed it.

I‘ve been following Hank Green for years, my favorite thing about his book is how much it sounds like him.

I‘m so thrilled to have found this author! Spooky, reminded me very much of Stephen King, in that it‘s a long book, but it reads like it‘s at the climax almost the entire book. Robin Miles narration was fabulous as always, for audiobook lovers. I bought another book from the same author as soon as I finished!

I enjoyed hate reading this, for whatever that‘s worth. 2.5⭐️

You don‘t realize how many ‘s‘s there are in the English language until the narrator has a weird lisp... Is it just my library copy? It‘s driving me nuts

Unpopular opinion. The only thing like I really liked about it was Bahni Turpin‘s narration. I love reading about West Africa, Mythology, and Magic, but it was too long, too slow, and I just didn‘t care about the characters. Maybe it‘s great if you are a teenager when you read it. Missed the mark for me.

Shameless brag post. My son tried out for his first ever theater production and ended up landing the lead. Tonight was opening night! I never thought I‘d be a stage mom, but he‘s hooked! (Pun intended)

Woah. There‘s not enough space for all my thoughts. I‘ll leave it at- if you want to have any understanding of civil rights/social justice, you MUST understand the prison industrial complex and the “tough on crime” propaganda. I was hoping to assign this for my 10th grader next year, but there is too much description of torture. 4⭐️

Please don‘t buy this book. If you like him on YouTube, just watch there. I had to force myself to read the whole thing. The line breaks are for the most part completely nonsensical- making it extremely difficult to read. Its like he wrote them out the way he thought a poem should look with no true understanding of poetry. I‘m filled with regret that I bought his second book as a preorder deal before first reading this.

This is such a fantastic series!! A little girl solves the medical problems of magical creatures in her forest, using the scientific method. They are fantastic for budding young scientists and delightfully silly. My 8yo loves them.

I was so excited for Circe, I somehow ordered it twice! And then went to Barnes and Nobles and bought more books. But I don‘t have a problem, I can quit anytime I want...

I‘ve just arrived at the immediate aftermath and it‘s so horrifying I don‘t know if I can finish. 😢😢😢 Prison reform is even more desperate now.

I always feel like I‘m only imbibing the very surface of a Morrison novels. Even still I enjoy them and learn so much. One of these days I‘d love to take a course on her work. I always listen to her novels, because I love the way she reads them. (Make sure to get a copy with the author‘s note)5⭐️

I was so sad finishing this Gaither Sisters book, there‘s only one left! The time period really comes alive, we felt like we were all dancing along with the Jackson Five. Enjoyed by my 4 kids (and me) aged 8-14. Surely did!

There‘s nothing quite like listening to Toni Morrison read you her book. I need an ear heart emoji 😍

Eh. After reading, I‘m a little surprised at all the rave reviews. The charming rogue main character was fun, but I couldn‘t have cared less about the “adventure.” I forced my way through the last half.

I read this for a book club, and I was super excited because I usually like Nigerian books. This was just “eh” for me. The writing was good, but the story didn‘t grab me and the ending was so contrived.

I don‘t know if this is the best first full length Adichie book to read, the genocide was pretty graphic. I had to take a break and read Anne of Green Gables half way through for some cheering up. That said, I‘m so very glad I read it. I plan to read more of her books, but only with long breaks for happier subjects in between. The characters were so well developed, and I‘ve added a lot to my knowledge of Africa. ⭐️

5⭐️ Devoured in one sitting. If you‘ve wanted to read Sherman Alexie (and you really should) this is a great place to start.

If you really love languages, you‘ll like this. I lost interest about halfway and only finished because it was short.

36 pages in, and I happy cried. My daughter walked by, shocked. “Aren‘t you supposed to do that at the end?!” I‘m guessing this is going to be great.

I needed something light and fun after finishing the Poisonwood Bible, and this totally fit the bill. Alan Cumming retells stories from his life, and meetings with celebrities. He‘s completely charming, never sounds like he‘s name dropping to impress. Plus I could listen to his accent all day. I wish I could hang out with him in real life!

5⭐️ I loved this book. And now I have to go read every book listed in the biography about the Congo.

I‘m so glad my family and friends are used to me crying over characters!
