Just grabbed this one off a shelf in the stacks because the cover looked interesting and the blurb sounded good. Kind of horror, kind of sci-fi. Plot details are skimpy but it was fun to read. Moves back and forth between NYC punks in the 1970s and 21st century Hollywood. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

#bookmail !! Such a sweet, sweet combo! Have been wanting to dive into the Vicious Circuit series. And the Clines book came out a while ago and had to get my hands on it. I think they‘re re-publishing it soon.

By far one of the best series I‘ve read in a long time. Not sure what they are putting in the water at cracked.com but they have extremely talented writers churning out some amazing stuff!

Horror/Urban fantasy where angels may really be the stuff of nightmares. Carey is a punk roaming the streets and clubs of 1977 NYC. Kaitlyn is an out-of-work stunt woman working as a waitress to make ends meet in 2013 LA. Brockway weaves together parallel narratives and inserts just the right amount of snark into his characters. I enjoyed this so much. And this is the first in a series?! Excuse me as I request the next book from the library.

"Matt! Stop watching that girl pleasure our appliances and focus! You and Safety Pins have the most important jobs, so I need you to pay attention. Are you here with me?"
"Yeah," Safety Pins said, biting her lip in concentration. "What do you need us to do?"
"I need you to carry the beer."
Safety Pins looked a little offended, but Matt recognized the seriousness of his task.

This book is crude in the best possible way. I'm loving it.

A punk rock book with a punk rock attitude. I really enjoyed it and will definitely read the sequel.
