So very booknerdy but I'm excited to finally use the magnetic bookmarks I got at Target a while ago.
Meanwhile reading City of Small Blessings which I had started reading when I was in Singapore but never continued with when I returned from my holiday. Picking it up now perhaps means I am thinking of home?

emilyhaldi Magnetic bookmarks are the best! 7y

Reading on the MRT. So far on my trips on the train I've seen one guy reading on a Kindle and one physical book. I suppose that's better than nothing! Singapore after all is a country in which less than 1 in 2 have read a "literary book" in the past year

Chachic LOL most people are on their phones in the MRT. I suppose it also depends on how long the commute is. Even I don't read on the train when I only have a couple of stops to travel. 7y
monkeygirlsmama Sad statistic. 😞 7y
RealLifeReading @Chachic I think before the proliferation of smartphones there were still hardly any readers on trains/buses. Except textbooks I guess 😂 I was recently at a children's section of a library here and every table was full of teenagers studying 7y

Chachic The libraries are full of kids on Sundays though. So looks like the kids are reading books, the adults aren't.😂 7y
RealLifeReading @Chachic a friend just told me today that there are usually queues to get into libraries on weekday mornings - that retirees rush in to grab the best seats and read newspapers 7y
Howseldomtheydo Maybe they are reading books on their phones. I do! 7y
RealLifeReading @Howseldomtheydo we can only hope 😅 7y
HKGirl Random, but have you heard of this book sale in Singapore? https://www.instagram.com/p/BXVJ3S_D-2x/ Looks amazing! 7y
RealLifeReading @HKGirl yes I have! But then I'd have to lug all those books back to the US! 7y

#anditsaugust day 1: #augustmostanticipated
Well I'm definitely looking forward to reading these two books I bought from the Books Actually store. They are both Singaporean writers and I'm always so happy to see more #singlit

Happiness is.. a two-bookstore afternoon. Here I am at the lovely indie bookstore Books Actually

Chachic Yay, you got to visit Books Actually! And probably Woods in the Book in the same street. I like Forty Hands cafe there too. And also Cheng's for Singaporean food and Open Door Policy for Western. 7y
readinginthedark What a fun name for a bookstore! 7y
RealLifeReading @Chachic yes I did! It was just a quick trip there to the two stores so didn't get to linger at the cafes. 7y
