Good Night Owl | Greg Pizzoli
6 posts | 9 read
Owl is ready for bed. But as soon as he settles in, he hears a strange noise. He'll never get to sleep unless he can figure out what's going on! He looks everywherein his cupboard, underneath the floorboardseven in his walls. But while he's busy tearing his house apart, he doesn't notice one tiny, squeaky, mouse-shaped detail. . . . Will Owl ever get a good night's sleep?

This F book is a great RA for the classroom. An owl tries to ho to sleep but can't because he hears a squeaking. He spends all night trying to find the squeaking and even goes through some drastic measures. This book is a fun read for the kids and they would love to see what the owl does because he can't sleep. More on the author at https://www.gregpizzoli.com/

KatiaP I would use ESOL strategy 22, giving enough time to respond to questions. There are many questions I could ask while reading this book and being patient and waiting for responses is a helpful strategy. The UDL principle I would use is facilitate personal coping skills and strategies (9.2) by talking about what we do if something is bothering us and how should we handle it. #UCFLAE3414SP20 4y
DrSpalding Going straight to the author is a smart move. Excellent resources to assist you in using these books in your future classroom. He is an award winner multiple times over! 4y

Owl is ready for bed but he keeps hearing this strange noise! He can‘t sleep if he does not figure out where the noise is coming from. Will Owl get a good night‘s rest? This RF book is written and illustrated by Greg Pizzoli. It was awarded the Theodore Suess Geisel Award in 2017. This book would be perfect for RA‘s and entertainment in the classroom. #ucflae3414su19

Bshelton27 I loved your resource! I like the variety of things ranging from learning the letter O to sensory play in the Cheerios. This looks like a cute book and would be an easy read to add to my classroom library. 5y
DrSpalding You have two books by this author! Maybe you should do an author study in a kindergarten or first grade classroom. 5y

With the fancy new library renovation came fancy iPads in the children‘s section.

Luckily, they announced Bed Time Story Time and I didn‘t have to argue with her about getting off of the tablet. She jumped up and briskly made her way to the meeting room to join in 😍 The books still won 🙌🏻

Good night owl is a childrens book that is about an owl trying to go to bed but cant bc of a mouse. This fiction picture book was created by Greg Pizzoli and is a Geisel honor book.

J.Cash Some teaching strategies I recommend are RA, S, IR, CR, and PR. https://www.readworks.org/lessons/gradek/good-night-owl/read-aloud-lesson this lesson plan helps with teaching students how to ask questions while using information from this book #UCFLAE3414SP18 6y

“Good Night Owl” written and illustrated by Greg Pizzoli is an adorable book about a flustered owl who struggles to get a good nights rest because of a strange sound. The sweet picture book is a Geisel Award recipient and would be great to read aloud in an elementary classroom. Pinterest is a very useful and easy accessible place to find teacher resources for books like this one as you can see by visiting this link:

Jbombardiere https://www.google.com/amp/s/it.pinterest.com/amp/pin/120119515034367525/ . The UDL principle that can be seen here is 2.5- illustrating through multiple media and the EL strategy that can be used is 44- focusing on thinking skills such as predicting and observing. 6y
