The best way to describe this novel is Hamlet set on a modern-day ranch in Montana. And in case you forget that the plot borrows heavily from Hamlet, the main character constantly comments on how his own situation reminds him of Hamlet. Despite the repetition, this was a pretty solid family drama. The ending could use some work, as it kind of just abruptly wraps up and hands everyone what they want, but the rest of the book is good.
