Fail | Rick Skwiot

Exiled to the city's tough North Side, disgraced St. Louis Police Lieutenant Carlo Gabriel wants nothing more than to return to the headquarters hierarchy. To get his wish, all he has to do is track down the missing husband of the mayor's press secretary. Instead he unearths a morass of corruption, educational malpractice, and greed that threatens to consign thousands of at-risk youths to the mean streets of America's erstwhile murder capital. Worse, it's the kind of information that could get a cop killed. Fighting for his life and his honor, Gabriel ultimately must make a choice that could affect not only his own future, but also that of the city and its top leaders.

I was not able to read near as much as I wanted but I guess it‘s not too bad considering I worked Friday and Sunday night and celebrated my anniversary Saturday night. Can‘t wait for the next #24in48 I‘ll make sure I have off work next time! 😉

BookishMe Bravo for attempting it! I didn't even consider it cos I too work over the weekend :)) 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes Yeah, sounds like you never stood a chance. This was my first time and I basically figured out that if you plan to sleep regularly, you barely have a second to be not reading during the day. 6y
Cinfhen Well done and happy anniversary ❤️ 6y

Chasing_Pages @BookishMe Thanks, I signed up a while ago then found out I had to work so I thought I would still try. Next time is my weekend off so yay!! 6y
Chasing_Pages @Natasha.C.Barnes Yes, I know it. This was my second and I knew I wouldn‘t come close. I will be planning better for the next one and planning to not sleep, working night shift has gotten me use to lack of sleep! 😉 6y
Chasing_Pages @Cinfhen Thank you ☺️ 6y
sprainedbrain That is very impressive, especially considering you had to work! Awesome job 🎉🎉🎉 6y
Mdargusch That‘s great! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 6y
Mollyanna You did great! Sounds like you had a full schedule and still read for 10 hours, impressive! 6y
Chasing_Pages @sprainedbrain @Mdargusch @Mollyanna Thank you!! I definitely still tried! 6y
Rachellynnwright Not a fail! 10 hours of reading in one weekend is still a lot of reading!!! Plus, any second of reading is a win in my book!! 6y
Bookzombie I think you did great! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 6y
Chasing_Pages @Rachellynnwright @Bookzombie Thank you, you‘re right! I should be happy with any amount of reading accomplished. I just can‘t wait to fully participate next time. 6y

The rest of today got away from me and I'm throwing in the towel now, but I feel really good about this weekend. I stopped momentarily to write, but got a little carried away. #24in48

janeycanuck That‘s not a fail, that‘s just a different kind of success. 6y

....and keeping it totally real, I have to share my #bujofail. I miscalculated and didn‘t have enough room for 0, 1,000,000 and birth year (1974) which is why they are randomly spread across the top🤦🏾‍♀️😭. I officially hate this spread now and am so tempted to glue the pages together and do it over. 🤬😡 #bujo #bulletjournal #litsybythenumbers #lbtn

Chelsibeau But it looks so nice!!! 6y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag I think it looks great! I remember many years ago, at a school drawing workshop, the instructor said there was no such thing as mistakes, to just keep drawing even if we thought we‘d gone wrong 😂 6y
JamieArc Embrace the BuJo fail 🎉🎉🎉 6y
WeeWeegieBookworm I think it looks awesome! I agree with JamieArc - embrace it and keep going 😁 6y
