Theres a Monster in Your Book | Tom Fletcher
6 posts | 8 read | 2 to read
A mischievous monster has invaded the pages of YOUR book! Tom Fletcher's warm, witty and perfectly-judged narrative voice brings this wonderfully inventive debut solo picture book to life, inviting readers to create magic inside the book. Children will love interacting by tilting, spinning, shaking and blowing, and then seeing the impact as each page is turned. A fantastic celebration of all the fun that can be had with a book, with a wonderful wind-down bedtime ending!

My four year old wanted to use some of the birthday money he got from his grandparents at Half Price Books, so he purchased books with his own money for the first time today! He loves books and said as we were walking up to the store, “I‘m going to smile so big when we go inside and see all the books!” Me too, buddy. Me. Too. 📚

Fetching illustrations of a little monster are about all that this picture book has. Another “interactive” picture books this might be good once or twice for a kid but might not hold interest after that. Also not a good one for reading out loud to a group.

Cute interactive book. The monster is adorable, which makes it fun, but this is not particularly unique. My son enjoyed it, though.

There‘s a Monster in Your Book, by Tom Fletcher, is a F picture book, a fun RA for young students. Readers are encouraged to physically interact with the book itself by completing strings of actions like tilting, shaking, and wiggling the book to try and get the adorable, mischievous, little monster out before he destroys all the pages!

AshleyAA This book, alongside the provided classroom activity, that teachers can use to introduce parts of speech, such as verbs and adjectives, can meet UDL principles 2.4 and 3.3, relating to promoting understanding across languages and guiding information through visualization and manipulation along with EL 17, providing contextual support through demonstrations and facial expressions. Student will be able to connect the words with their actions. 6y
DrSpalding This book was boosted and the knitted monster is precious. How fun to create a monster trading card. 6y
