ValerieAndBooks I have that same exact edition! Ordered it through QPBC many years ago. Definitely more gruesome than the versions for today‘s children. 5y
Lcsmcat @ValerieAndBooks Yep - that‘s where we got this one. My husband‘s favorite quote from it is “She was only good to have boots thrown at her head” which probably sounds really awful in German! 5y

ValerieAndBooks 👍👍@lcsmcat @karmonr !! I miss QPBC! Was a member for many years. This was back in the day when trade paperbacks were not that common. Online shopping just isn‘t the same as poring through a paper catalog full of book blurbs. 5y

ValerieAndBooks @Lcsmcat unfortunately not. They got folded into The Literary Guild a few years ago. And the LG apparently is still around, which surprised me — I only see references to BOTM these days! 5y

I am really anxious lately, so it fills good to listen to these stories. I read a lot of them when I was little, so I am interested in listening to the differences between editions.
