The Six Sacred Stones
The Six Sacred Stones | Matthew Reilly
After their thrilling exploits in Matthew Reillys bestseller Seven Ancient Wonders, super-soldier Jack West and his loyal team of adventurers are back, and now they face an all-but impossible challenge. For a mysterious ceremony in an unknown location has triggered a catastrophic countdown that will climax in the destruction of all life on Earth. But there is one last hope. If Jacks team can find and rebuild a legendary ancient device known only as the 'Machine', they might be able to ward off this coming Armageddon. The only clues to its location, however, are held within the fabled Six Sacred Stones, long lost in the fog of history. And so the hunt begins . . . From Stonehenge in England, to the deserts of Egypt, to the spectacular Three Gorges region of China, The Six Sacred Stones will take you on a non-stop rollercoaster ride through ancient history, modern military hardware, and some of the fastest and most mind-blowing action you will ever read.

This book provides 1 of the best #cliffhangers I can think of. Just couldn't be left hanging and had to quickly get to the next book - wasn't disappointed. I love the Jack West Junior Series by Matthew Reilly and thoroughly recommend them if you like fast paced books with plenty of action, treasure hunts, historical connections, a great group of characters and good use of humour. Great books for any world tours.

Day 4 of #augustofpages and today is "favourite bookish squad" My bookish squad goals has got to be the team from Matthew Reilly's "Jack West Jr." series. They are a fantastic bunch that travel the world in search of ancient artefacts, and get into all sorts of mayhem and adventures.
(Book #3 - The Five Greatest Warriors is hiding at the top. Book #4 - Four Legendary Kingdoms is going to be released in October!)
