When three friends impulsively buy a lottery ticket, they never suspect the many ways their lives will change-or that for each of them, love will be the biggest win of all. Kit Averin is anything but a gambler. A scientist with a quiet, steady job at a university, Kit's focus has always been maintaining the acceptable status quo. Being a sudden millionaire doesn't change that, with one exception: the fixer-upper she plans to buy, her first and only real home. It's more than enough to keep her busy, until an unsettlingly handsome, charming, and determined corporate recruiter shows up in her lab-and manages to work his way into her heart . . . Ben Tucker is surprised to find that the scientist he wants for Beaumont Materials is a young woman-and a beautiful, sharp-witted one at that. Talking her into a big-money position with his firm is harder than he expects, but he's willing to put in the time, especially when sticking around for the summer gives him a chance to reconnect with his dad. But the longer he stays, the more questions he has about his own future-and who might be in it. What begins as a chilly rebuff soon heats up into an attraction neither Kit nor Ben can deny-and finding themselves lucky in love might just be priceless . . .

I‘m on page 27 and really like the start of this. Three friends win the lottery, This tells the story of the first friend. Alternating first person with her love interest. Included with kindle unlimited.

I felt like a change of pace for Sunday night reading. I am no scientist but I enjoyed the main character's passion for her job.

Three books finished during the second day of #MarvellousMarch. Although they were all cute, A lot Like Adios was a bit of a let down compared to how much I adored the first in the series You Had Me at Hola. @Andrew65

Vansa Agreed, her writing is really stilted in A lot like adios- specially when I absolutely love the dance reality show series. This one just fell flat. 2y

The first day of #MarvellousMarch went really well! I‘ve already strayed from my TBR, and am currently reading the tagged book. 💖

Andrew65 A great start 👏👏👏 Plans are made to be broken. 2y

Finished up while working at the office. Gotta make the best of working on a Saturday! Really delightful love story, loved the scientist and salvage yard angles, so fun and interesting 😄 Thoroughly enjoyed, will read the second in the series!

The tagged book is first in series, and I liked it...this second venture (not in database yet) I loved! ❤️ Why? Two reasons I‘ll mention...first, it‘s not fluff, not just a love story. The characters have real issues to face with their pasts, their families, their friends. Second, the first book is the author‘s DEBUT novel...this is only her second, but she writes like a seasoned professional...her words flow effortlessly. Can‘t wait for no. 3!

robinb #romantsy #NetGalley #KensingtonBooks @Jas16 We are in agreement...even better than the first one! 👍😊❤️ 6y
Ms_T Great review 👍🏻 6y

Up next, LUCK OF THE DRAW, the second in series about three BFFs who live and love after winning a lottery together. I‘ve read the first one (the tagged book...LOTD is not showing up in database) and really enjoyed it, so thought I‘d continue with the series. This is Zoe‘s story. 15% in and liking it so far! 👍 #romantsy
Out 4/24
Thanks to #NetGalley!

Jas16 I actually liked this one more than the first one. Interested to hear what you think 6y

This ebook is currently on sale for .99 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is the first book in a trilogy about three friends who win the lottery. The heroine is a scientist trying to put down roots and create a home for herself and the hero wants to convince her to take a job out of state while he is back in town to care for his father after an accident. Well developed characters and good chemistry make this an easy to recommend title. #romantsy

Just finished this one in time for a book club discussion. Loved it! Not normally a contemporary romance fan, but this one was more character-driven than usual. Ben and Kit BOTH had their own issues. What did I love most about it? They were neither one perfect, they did not try to “fix” each other, and they figured it out for themselves...being the smart, capable characters they were. ❤️❤️ 4/5⭐️ #romantsy

Chachic I keep hearing good things about this title! But I really should read books from my TBR pile before buying more. 6y
robinb @Chachic I loved it! It‘s the first of a trilogy, with the second out in April. I don‘t think I would have discovered it but for it being a pick in a book club I‘m in. So glad I gave it a chance! In my opinion it had more substance and character development than a lot of contemporary romance does. I‘ll happily give the second one a try. 😊 6y
Chachic @robinb Oh yes, it's hard to find good contemporary romance titles/authors. Have you tried the books by Lucy Parker and Laura Florand? They're two of my favorites. Aside from those, I read a lot of Filipino contemporary romance. 6y

robinb @Chachic I haven‘t read either of those authors. Thanks for the recommendations! I‘ll look them up! 😊 Do they do series? Any particular place to start with either? 6y
Chachic @robinb Yes, they both have series but each book features a different couple so they can be read as standalones. For Lucy Parker, you can start with 6y
Chachic @robinb Laura Florand has two series that I love, one is set in Provence and features an agricultural perfume family. It starts with 6y
Chachic @robinb And Laura Florand's other series features chocolatiers/pastry chefs as heroes, set in Paris. The first is 6y
robinb @Chachic Oh this is wonderful information...thanks so much!!! I‘m looking forward to trying them both out! 😘 6y
Chachic @robinb Yay, hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did! 6y
robinb @Chachic thanks again, I‘ll let you know what I think! 👍 6y

This is not my usual cup of tea...not a huge fan of contemporary romance. But it‘s the next featured read in an online book club I‘m in, so here I go. 😬 Hope it‘s a good one! #osrbc #romantsy

SandyW Perhaps you'll have "beginners luck" with the genre. ? 6y
robinb @SandyW hehehe you are SO good! 🤣🤣🤣👏👏 And I certainly hope so! 🤞🏻 Thanks! 6y
