Wow, dark and heartbreaking. A powerfully unique read. I absolutely adore Matt Haig but there is some serious darkness to this one. I feel shattered but so glad I read it.

Another one on my Matt Haig streak. This guy can write. This one is about a father turning overprotective of his daughter after the death of his son and wife.
Wow, I am having trouble rating this one! This book is weird, curious, refreshing, multi-interpretational (is that a word?), and experimental. And it's dark. Really, really dark. So dark that the pleasure you normally get from reading a good book is largely absent, which is precisely why I am struggling so much to rate this book! I don't know! It's a cool novel. If you like dark and obscure, this book is your jam! #catsoflitsy
Ok, I have now finished this book and just like its mess of different ratings on goodreads, I have no idea how to rate it!
Cats and books make a terrible pairing. Here is the Hufflefluff again attempting to kill invisible mice. Dart in the background being a good gentleman, but only because the poor baby has an eye infection. #catsoflitsy #KAL
“I once heard a Radio 4 nitwit say that if Beethoven were alive today he would be playing guitar in a rock band. No. He would be sitting on that railway platform, breathing into a brown paper bag as he prayed for the train that would finish him.”
ok not too far in yet, but so far this book makes Matt Haig‘s other books seem perfectly ordinary.
Next up! Used bookstore find from a couple months ago. All I want to read are Matt Haig books. This one appears to have incredibly mixed reviews on goodreads. Hmm... I guess I look forward to discovering what my opinion is!
I went Christmas shopping and bought books. For myself. 🎁
