4 ⭐️ Usually I read more graphic and gore thriller/mystery novels and this one was a smidge too cozy for me. Still loved it and will definitely read the second - how can you not be intrigued by a cursed stage magician who tries to solve the mystery of her assistant‘s death?! Delicious food with recipes included makes this a book you shouldn‘t read on an empty stomach.

4⭐️ read this one in 2 days- so proud of myself for ignoring ALL responsibilities while the toddler slept so I could devour this book. Supernatural thriller with a perfect amount of spooky. The Carters are on their honeymoon & find themselves on a deserted stretch of road where they find a hitchhiker and offer her a lift. All hell breaks loose and they become murder suspects who can‘t leave town, so they decide to solve the case on their own.

4⭐️ I feel like anything and everything I want to say would spoil this book. It‘s a similar concept to book 1 in that the rulers only have a set # of days to save LightLark, however this time Isla has her powers. The book hops between before Centennial and present day, but is remembering worth the pain? All previous characters make an appearance, and introduces some new ones. Decent sequel- can‘t wait for the 3rd!!

3.5 ⭐️ I love Miranda books so much- they‘re light thriller with twists and turns. Cassidy and a group of friends get together every year to commemorate the tragic accident they were all in their senior year of high school. The group of 11 is down to 9… 8?…7? What is happening and why are they dying one by one..?!

4.5⭐️ pleasantly surprised. Ive seen a few people include it on lists, few talks shows etc etc and thought I‘d give it a try. It‘s all a game until someone dies. Not to mention there are lies and liars are everywhere. And of course forbidden love; or lust or is it just part of the game?

Drnkpnkprincess Nightbane (2nd book) is at the library so I‘ll grab that this week. I‘m really blown away by the twist in this one even though I knew not to trust anyone. The betrayal by Grimm on both accounts, Poppy and Terra, Celeste; Isla‘s interpretation of the riddle which saved them. The Moonlings are up to something, I know it- and I can‘t wait to find out how it all unfolds! 1mo

4⭐️ I love flawed characters, I love light horror, I love twists and turns. But something about this one left me wanting more, and not in the usual “I thirst for more and need to read every book ever written”, but more of the “something is missing” or “why wasn‘t this added!?”. Still would recommend- beauty and the beast mixed with Alice in Wonderland & Narnia.

Anyone read this (tagged book) yet? Opinions? Theories? I saw the movie trailer and can‘t decide if it‘s genius to put out both within the same couple of weeks or completely deranged.

CogsOfEncouragement No, but I read an article several days ago that said the movie is based on book four 🤷‍♀️ 3mo
marleed I read the book because the cover called me in, then I discovered the marketing - which may be genious or at least unique! The author is not a character in the book! 3mo
Drnkpnkprincess @CogsOfEncouragement book 4?!? This is even more confusing 🫤 3mo

Drnkpnkprincess @marleed interesting. Okay, well I guess I‘ll add it to my library holds and wait to see which streaming service it pops up on… I doubt I‘ll get it read before it‘s out of theaters since there are 15 people ahead of me. 3mo
Drnkpnkprincess @CogsOfEncouragement also- I saw an interview with the director who specifically seems to know who elly conway is but I can‘t seem to find any concrete evidence except an article here or there that says there are co-authors. So I‘m assuming that “Elly Conway” is the CIA agent in the movies and the book is one of her covers/tasks.🤷🏼‍♀️ 3mo
CogsOfEncouragement Here is the article reporting the movie is based on the 4th book. https://www.forbes.com/sites/monicamercuri/2024/02/03/does-argylle-have-a-post-c... 3mo
Drnkpnkprincess @CogsOfEncouragement yes this is one of the articles I read stating the two coauthors. I (personally) never thought it was TS so that‘s not an issue for me- I‘m still just floored by the marketing/timing of it all. 3mo

5⭐️ Binged this audiobook over the past few days and was sucked into the city of Oath, war between Dacre and Enva, and most importantly Iris and Roman. 1/2 🌶️ spicy- very PG imo- but gave the perfect amount of details to create the illusions in my mind. Ross‘ writing had me hooked and narrators Norfolk and Wingfield breathe life into the characters making them jump off the “page” and swim through my ears and brain. Can‘t wait for #2‘s release!!

Strike, Robin, and gang have to delve into the *supernatural* mega cult that has its chokehold on the overly wealthy and semi-famous… while they sift through rumors about magic, smoke and mirrors, conspiracy theories and murder, mayhem ensues. This is my favorite book in the series so far, even though I dislike the Robin/Ryan storyline 😂🫣 and love the new softer side of Strike presented throughout this installment.

Perfect start for the next series! Slow in the beginning - but not so slow you want to give up- and then BOOM it‘s full speed ahead with griping sea adventures, magical creatures and possibly someone we‘ve met before?! 5⭐️ I couldn‘t put it down, and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Drnkpnkprincess Also- I this could possibly end up being a 5 book series if each transgression is their own book. Based on Chakraborty‘s “additional reading” section and gained knowledge, she clearly has some expertise in the matter of magical artifacts and probably wouldn‘t have decided 5 with the Peri court if that wasn‘t the direction she‘s (hopefully) going. 12mo

I did it! Finally finished! Okay- so that was intense. Not so much the story line - pretty basic murder mystery but thrown into the mix is the virtual world of online gaming and catfishing, incels and terrorists. Some of the chapters are tumblr/twitter feeds and chat rooms which (based on formatting) took me a few rereads to get through. Grab a pen and pad to take notes on all the characters, cause there are a lot. 4.5⭐️

As the devil slowly takes the ship- your mind starts to twist and guess who he might be. Cleverly written, an amazingly great story. 5🌟
