This was definitely the hardest Peter Ash book for me to get into, but once the story picked up, I could not put it down! There were some weapon specific descriptions where I found myself skimming, but overall I love the writing style and hope there are more Peter Ash stories to come :)
The book was a little slow to start, but now I can‘t put it down, just like the first two Peter Ash books...This paragraph isn‘t the main part of the story, but I really enjoyed this accurate description! 😌
Oldest left for AF Basic Training this month... reading was slow and not enough escape - missing him a lot. A few great books this month #FebStats #ReadingStats
Entertaining and an interesting main character. Here‘s hoping Peter Ash‘ ptsd continues to improve and his savior complex becomes less overall.
Audiobook 7 of 2018. I really like this series about a returning marine with claustrophobia due to PSTD. It‘s a fun over the top actioner which reminds me a lot of early Reacher novels. The writing can get clunky and some of the characters, especially the female ones, some off a bit stiff but the action scenes are fun. The narrator is ok, struggles a bit with female voices but serviceable. About halfway through and enjoying it.
Nick Petrie visited @Mysterytome tonight on book tour. Here are a few quotes and book suggestions from Nick: he wanted to write about “a world he could dive into;” referenced E M Forrester and “no flat characters” -both of which he accomplishes. Suggested Chloe Benjamin, Reed Farrell Coleman, Alex Berenson, Marcus Sakey, Blake Crouch, Bill Beverly. And, next Peter Ash book is set in Memphis!
I love Nick Petrie. I read this as an ARC. Fascinating description of the pot trade in CO and the organizations that have formed to protect this cash only business. Ash gets more interesting with each book. Don‘t miss this
This is the first book in the Peter Ash series that I read! It was action packed from the get go! Peter Ash is a Marine who is back stateside suffering from "static" (PTSD). While helping a friend, the alpha 'wolf' must protect the pack but also a love interest! Readers will love, June Cassidy, she's a "smart, profane, hilarious, bossy, and delicious" counterpart Peter can't live without. #netgalley #veterans #actionpacked
Fast paced... lots of action. Great characters! Peter Ash in Colorado
I love mystery thrillers and really love when they're written by a local author. Peter Ash is one of my new favorite characters and I've enjoyed seeing him evolve over the first three novels and I'm looking forward to more. And Nick recently won the Literary Award from the WI Library Association and I got to meet him there. Such a nice man!
