pick2022 Reread #1: I have a confession to make. When I was 10 or 11, I repeatedly checked out this audio book from the library. Finally I copied (I didn‘t know any better!) the book on our dual cassette player so I would have it all the time. I had these tapes in my possession until 2016 when my newer car had no tape deck in it. My last reread was in 2010. Even though it feels a little dated, I enjoyed rereading this and it remains my favorite MHC.
So very sad... this breaks my heart as she was one of my very favorite authors. I discovered her books in 7th grade and felt like just an adult when I would go into the “Adult Fiction” section of the library to pick out her books... I am proud to say that I own and have read most of her books 💔💔
April 15: #AprilInBooks #shelfieSunday— I‘m a huge MHC fan, starting with While My Pretty One Sleeps in 7th grade, which I had to check out from the public library because the middle school library was sorely lacking when it came to top-notch suspense.
pickThough not as engaging, I still say pick as it‘s well written and the storyline is kinda Diva channel-ish. Slow paced and picked up speed only towards the end. A little twist and lacklustre ending were like ‘huh that‘s it?‘ for me
