#OnThisDay in 1934, space traveling hero Flash Gordon made his first print appearance. Buck Rogers' adventures had captured the public's hearts, and King Features Syndicate said "Hey! We want a piece of that!" And so they enlisted staff artist Alex Raymond to create a space adventurer of their own. Raymond borrowed from Philip Wylie's When World's Collide and created something that would go on to run for 69 years. #HistoryGetsLIT

I'm a HUGE Flash Gordon fan. The comics the books, TV shows and that 80's movie I watched as a kid over and over and over and over... 🤗🚀🤗
I'm not one to usually support remakes but I'd love to see what modern cinema would do with a Flash Gordon movie today. And even if it sucked...all the original material would still be there for me to enjoy so no loss.
