Life‘s a bad writer, my father used to say. I think he meant that most of us would write our lives differently, given the chance.

I don't like giving negative reviews, especially to a Canadian author. My mother also taught me if you don't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't say anything at all. So here goes...I couldn't relate to the main character at all. The dialogue was trite and the story was not engaging and ridiculous at times. That being said, Dyer is a champion of literacy here in Canada, and I admire her efforts & contributions to the children's book industry.
