A girl and a dragon befriend each other in Vienna (but of course!) and then go on a quest to free dragons that have been enchanted into a deep sleep. There are magic potions, talking cats, and travels to London, Rome, and the Black Forest, but the deepest magic of all are friendship and a willingness to make sacrifices to help others. I came for the enchanting illustrations and I stayed for the story, which is quietly touching and bittersweet.
Have you read this book? I saw it at the bookstore are thought about buying it but they only had it in hardcover. If you have read it, please comment a short summary and reveiw.
This was a cute story. Grisha is a vegetarian dragon who is transformed into a teapot for several decades. Once he is freed, he and his friend Maggie set about to save the other dragons who have all been put under a sleeping spell. However, I felt the story was stretched a bit long. Its possible that another glance over by an editor might have helped. I dont imagine Ms. Weyr cares much for cats as she isn't particularly kind to them in this book.
This caught me off guard. I laughed until I cried. Sounds like their plan is off to a good start 😂
Sunday Plans: Finish this cute little story up and drink all the hot cocoa! Autumn is finding it's way to Michigan! 🍁🍂☕

In this unique story, dragons are second class citizens closely monitored by a department that decides where they can live, what jobs they can have, who they can speak to. But what happened to the hundreds of dragons who disappeared? A young girl and her only friend, a dragon, set out to find some answers. A lovely story and a gentle way to introduce tough concepts like genocide and social injustice to kids.
One of the things I have found while reading "The Language of Spells," is that I love some of the author's descriptions. While not cheerful, this has been one of my favorites.

Started this one last night before bed. It's been a while since I read a book meant for a much younger crowd. I find it a bit wordy but the story idea I quite like.

In addition to all of the bookswaps I committed to in September, I'm also going to give this a shot. I am a VERY slow reader and can also be easily distracted. This, I'm hoping, will help me to stay focused and finish some of my teetering "to be read" pile! Thanks for the challenge, @TheReadingMermaid ??♀️ The tagged book will be the first on my list!

I have a confession to make. Tonight, I did the thing I always do, folks: I finished one ARC, got cocky, and ended up requesting four more 🙄 #netgalley
Tonight‘s goal was SUPPOSED to be finding a new audiobook. On Libby. Whoops.
