This has to be one of my favorite Realistic Fiction books I have come across. Its about a boy learning to tune into his feelings and find peace from within. When you need to bring a sense of peace and relaxation into your classroom this would be perfect to be used as a read aloud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXA3837uv3w This is a link to the author reading it aloud herself!

Brennap This book has so many UDL principles incorporated within it but one I thought was important is (9.2)” Facilitate personal coping skills and strategies”. This book emphasizes tuning into ones own emotions and finding peace, so its perfect for finding personal coping skills. An ESOL strategy thats also perfectly incorporated with this book is 3. “Encourage self-talk (positive thinking).” 5y
