No Second Chance
No Second Chance | Harlan Coben
A brilliant thriller from 'one of the most sheerly entertaining and accomplished writers in the genre' [DAILY EXPRESS]. Marc Seidman's idyllic world is brutally ripped apart when he is gunned down in his home. Twelve days later he wakes up in hospital to learn that his wife is dead and his baby daughter Tara is missing. A ransom demand is made and agreed to. But something goes terribly wrong. The kidnappers escape, and Marc remembers the ransom note's ominous warning: there will be no second chance. An agonising eighteen months pass with no word. And then, as Marc has just about given up all hope of seeing his daughter again, a package arrives with a note attached: want a second chance? The note is chilling, but Marc sees only one thing: the chance to save his daughter. And, haunted by deception and deadly secrets - about his wife, about an old love, and about his own past - he vows to bring Tara home ... at any cost.

The first half was great…I love a good thriller, but this one just had too many silly, unnecessary twists. It was an easy read though, and decent overall!

Pickpick

If I‘ve read Harlan Coben before it was a really long time ago so wasn‘t sure what to expect but this book was pretty good with a little twist at the end that I was not expecting. Coben wraps up this story in one neat little package which is something I like..no lingering thoughts of what the hell happened! It‘s not full of nail biting suspense but in all a pretty good story that keeps you entertained throughout 🙂

My first physical copy of the year! I'm currently flying through No Second Chance and really enjoying it... I'm hoping to pick up more of these colorful spine paperback copies soon. 😍

One of my favorite authors. I've read several of Coben‘s books but this is at the top of the list.

This had been recommended to me with glowing reviews, and I really wanted to like it! Unfortunately I found the writing a little trite and a bit messy in spots, and the storyline, for me, was cobbled together, with some glaring omissions at the end....but all wrapped up in a bow!

Bookgirl I read one book by Harlan Coben and knew I'd never read another. So predictable, such bad writing. 8y
Ais I completely agree! The only reason I finished it was because I was on a flight with absolutely no alternative reading material. Very disappointing 8y
