Written in 1941, Blithe Spirit remained the longest-running comedy in British Theatre for three decades thereafter. Plotted around the central role of one of Coward's best loved characters, a spirit medium Madame Arcati (originally performed by Margaret Rutherford) Coward's play is an escapist comedy about a man whose two previous wives return to haunt him.

Just perfect 💕 so pleased to have found this vintage edition of the stage play, complete with scene and lighting directions. The 1945 movie with Rex Harrison and Margaret Rutherford is my absolute favourite film of all time, a complete comfort watch for me. This addition to my shelves therefore, is very very precious 😍

CatAndKindle It‘s my birthday next week. One of those traumatic ones with a zero at the end. The people at work bought me tickets to see Blithe Spirit which is on at a local theatre later this year. So perfect 6y
