This sounds fun to me...delightful even. I‘ve got high hopes that this play will be better than T&C. Here goes nothing.

Well, it‘s a tragedy. So this isn‘t going to end well.
~~~
I thought that it, somehow, wasn‘t in the tagged book because for whatever reason I thought it was a comedy. I‘m hoping this nice overview helps clear up some things for me.
Graywacke Thinking the story is a tragedy and the play is making/having fun with the tragedy... which makes it what? 5y
GingerAntics @Graywacke well, a Shakespearean comedy isn‘t a comedy in the funny sense, it just means none of the main characters die. So the comedies aren‘t necessarily meant to be funny. Some of them are, but some of them aren‘t. This play feels like an absolute hot mess. 5y
Graywacke @GingerAntics right, to all that. But he mixed stuff up too. Exit chased by bear became pretty gruesome humor. 5y
GingerAntics @Graywacke fair point...this play is still an absolute hot mess. 5y
Great little resource before starting any new Shakespeare play you‘ve never read before. Love this bad boy. #Shakespeare #StoriesfromShakespeare #MarchetteChute #shakespearereadalong #firstfolio
Erin7 Thanks for the resource suggestion. I will definitely look into this one. 7y
RaimeyGallant Good to know. :) 7y
GingerAntics @Erin7 @RaimeyGallant it was actually first published in the 50‘s or early 60‘s. Luckily, in the last 5 years or so they‘ve released a paperback edition. Previously, you had to hunt down one of the originals. 7y
