Just finished. It was ok, but it dealt with some pretty hard subjects. I like that we got good representation with each of the 3 girls.

While it has good representation for Bengali and muslim characters, I think some things could have been handled better.

Has anyone else heard of people who buy a book, read it and then return it to get their money back. ? Curious about everyone‘s thoughts

BookishGirl06 Personally idk if I agree with this. I know books can get expensive, but libraries exist too. If it‘s costing authors money when people do it then it‘s bad 2mo
SRWCF Nah, that's stealing. Go to the library if you can't afford to buy new books. 2mo
Aims42 I hate this! Totally agree with the others, this is why libraries exist. 2mo

BookHoarder32 I heard it‘s an issue with ebooks. It‘s never crossed my mind to return a book. 2mo
LiteraryinLawrence I don‘t support this at all! Totally unfair to the bookstore. 2mo
mrsmarch When I was in the airport in NC I bought a book and they taped the receipt inside the cover — I could return it for 50% credit at other outlets of the same store in other airports! It was very interesting! 2mo
vivastory I agree with others on this thread. This is terrible & I don't support it at all. 2mo
swynn +1 for "Y'all, don't do this." 2mo
EKonrad Please don‘t do this! That‘s why there are libraries! 2mo
CarolynM I have heard of it. Makes me very angry😡 2mo

New idea for #bookspin that I decided to try out. Wanted to see if I‘d do better with mood reading vs tbrs. Basically a number is just a section in my shelves, and for each number, I‘d just pick a book from that section. If this isn‘t allowed, just let me know but I thought it‘d be an interesting way to still use #bookspin but not be tied to a specific list. #doublespin #bookspinbingo

FantasyChick I did this last month and it worked great for me! I'm planning to continue on this way. Hope it works for you!!! 3mo
tracey38 Sounds like a good idea, especially for a mood reader like myself. 3mo
BookishGirl06 Note. If I read more than 1 book from a particular section, it would only count once, but the additional book could count towards free spaces ? 3mo

ravenlee I think you‘ve found a great way to make your list! Mine this month is mostly categories like “library book” or “from a previous list” plus a handful of books I‘m already committed to reading. 3mo
TheAromaofBooks Yay!! Looks great!!! I have a few people this year using shelves instead of specific books. I am all for whatever works for getting things off your TBR!!! 3mo
BookishGirl06 @TheAromaofBooks I never end up reading the specific ones I pick half the time if I‘m not interested in them. So maybe this works better lol 3mo

I finished it and while the format was interesting, I just thought it flew by pretty fast. I could barely keep track of all the names and things going on. Mary is a sick girl, who also struggles with alcohol/drug usage throughout the book. Idk if I would revoke this to anyone or not.

Anyone ever think Voldemort would have had a better chance at winning, had he used his original wand against Harry at end rather than the elder wand? I think it could be possible since he wasn‘t it‘s true master (he wasn‘t aware of this), and Harry was, the wand naturally wouldn‘t kill Harry. Also since Harry‘s original wand was destroyed, he wouldn‘t have had to worry about their wands refusing to finish each other off

BookwormAHN I think that's a good point. 4mo
BookishGirl06 @BookwormAHN thanks. I‘m not sure if Voldemort still would have lost but at least he‘d have a wand that was truly loyal to him 4mo

Can I do it ? I think so for page goal. Maybe books too. I track how many pages I read in a month and I can usually get over 1000 pages in a good month. Also counting vox as a January read cause i finished it today.
