The Footsteps of Anne Frank
The Footsteps of Anne Frank: Essential companion to The Diary of a Young Girl | Ernst Schnabel, Erika Prins, Gillian Walnes MBE
2 posts | 1 read | 8 to read
The only book that gets close to defining who Anne Frank was. Her father Otto Frank initiated this project and the author interviewed 42 people mentioned in her diary. Here too is the story of the betrayal and its disastrous aftermath.

Today is Anne Frank‘s birthday.

The tagged book, published in 1958, was the first to tell of Anne‘s life before and during the war and was initiated by her father to silence the far right naysayers who said the diary was a fake. The author (a German) tracked down and interviewed more than 40 people mentioned by Anne and was the first to write about what happened after the abrupt ending to her diary.
