Today's prompt made me think of fierce warrior women and not f a particular online shop. Why's that shop even named thus?

Anyway, strong women who knew how to fight, who were not against men or motherhood, but stood their ground and might have lead a matriarchal society.

ETA: today's prompt is #Amazon

GingerAntics The same is true of the ancient celts and Britons. Damn Rome and their "women aren't citizens" ways. 5y
julesG @GingerAntics Germanic and Nordic tribes, too. But it was Christianity with them, more than the Romans. The Romans feared us, they built a wall. 😁 5y
Cinfhen Excellent choices!! I like the way you‘re thinking today 😍 5y
Billypar These sound like really interesting cultural studies: would be interesting to understand what led these societies to accept women warriors, when so many still don't to this day. 5y

Kindle Unlimited is free for 3 months rather than the regular 1 month free trial.

I've signed up. I've been debating it for a while. I spend more and more on books every week but I'm not sure the books available with Unlimited are that great. For three months free I think its worth giving it a chance. As always with these things, I set a calendar reminder to cancel (if I choose to) a week before the deadline

Pickpick

A bit scattered in the end, since it ranges the globe looking for warrior women without particularly sticking to the traditional mental image of Amazons, and goes into art/lit too. Fascinating stuff in many ways, though: I think I want to read more about Scythians.
