This is an intensely (and sometimes overwhelmingly) scholarly collection of essays written to celebrate the completion of the History of Middle-earth in 2000. Ranging over the whole linguistic, literary and historical landscape of Tolkien's world it delves deep into its themes and construction. Moray_Reads @Daisey it's really difficult to get hold of and costs a fortune in hard copy so I paid $19.99 for a months membership at Questia for it, they've got quite a few Tolkien-related books so it will definitely be worth the money for the more obscure ones 6y
