I really should have bailed. One good twist toward the end doesn‘t make up for an overall whiny, angsty book.
This was... fine? Not bad, and I really enjoyed the second chance hockey romance premise - as HS sweethearts they were inseparable, until he chose to focus on hockey and the NHL, and abruptly ended their relationship. Now, 8 years later, Ethan is back in town, and his connection with Lilah is just as strong as it ever was (Her heart? Not so much). But it was all just *too* predictable for me, even as an avid romance junkie. Not Hunting's best.
Really enjoyed this, though I wish Liliah would have better communicated with Ethan about some stuff because she is an ADULT and has goals. But oh well, par for the course in romance lol.
Here‘s my review for another book I just finished listening to. I‘m counting this book for 1 reading challenge.

Finished Good Luck Charm yesterday.
Another steamy Rom Com.
Love me a good romantic comedy.
Slowly working my way through my bingo board.

I bought this book years ago and like most of the books I buy it just sits on my bookshelf. I don‘t know why I waited so long to read it. I am a sucker for second chance romances and this book didn‘t disappoint. I love Lilah and Ethan and their road back to each other. I wish that some of the characters in this book got their own story. Maybe one day!
second-chance romance “The Good Luck Charm” . Lilah just can‘t seem to catch a break when it comes to love; first her dad leaves her as a kid, then her marriage fails and Ethan her highschool best friend/boyfriend abandons her for his hockey career. But when a close family friend falls ill, Ethan comes back to town and could they pick up where they left off!? So far a fast read with all the things I love about romantic comedies! 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟stars
I‘m stuck in the city and there‘s wicked traffic? Is that a thing people say in Minnesota? That sounds straight out of Boston.

A fun, sweet romance. I really enjoyed the characters and am a little disappointed that it isn't a series (yet) because I would definitely read more.
I thought the story was the cutest! I loved Delilah and Ethan! I loved that Ethan was a hockey player. It was a great rom com and just what I needed to get me out of my book funk. I was able to breeze right through this book in one day. It does have a lot of sexual tension and sex of course. It's all good. I loved it and it was a good Bookstagram made me buy this book moment.
This is somewhere between a so-so and a pan. I really expected to enjoy this one but I could not get into it. Defintely sexy, but lacked the witty banter I want in my #romantsy picks. I could not believe the chemistry between the characters. This book also dragged on a bit and had one too many random side plot lines.

Helena Hunting is becoming an auto-buy author for me. I finished this one in about a day. Usually HH has comedy driven stories but this wasn‘t one of those. It was a great second-chance romance where they (mostly) maturely try to figure out how to fit back into each other‘s now separately formed lives with some bumps along the way. Sweet and sexy. #romantsy
Happy #BookLoversDay!
I'm celebrating the day by starting Helena Hunting's newest. #romantsy #currentlyreading
I was absolutely expecting Ethan or Lilah to do something monumentally stupid in this story but neither one of them really did, which was nice. There was no great big drama between the characters either. There was history & heartbreak that they had to wade through as well as some reveals that changed a thing or two. I was deeply invested in both characters & wanted a win for them. Full review at www.thegenreminx.com #TheGenreMinxBookReviews
