One of the early feminist utopia SFF shorts.
Extremely illuminative. The atobiographical excerpts are also extemely good as is the nonfiction background information essays.

A great feminist utopian short story set in India. I found this gem on #SerialReader
For reading some of the early “feminist” stories from women of European heritage, I found this short story written in 1905 by a Muslim woman reversing the gender roles very interesting.
* Recommended if you enjoyed Angel Island by Inez Haynes Irwin or Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Week two of #litereads has come to a close! If you read Sultana's Dream be sure to let us know what you thought. I wrote up this review to let you know my own thoughts on the story. Hold tight for tomorrow's announcement for the next pick.

This is a different picture of first wave feminism than what we normally see, as well as a different picture of Indian women from a hundred years ago than what we normally see. Did this story change your image of either? #litereads
Our current #litereads pick has some cool sci-fi technology in the utopian world of Ladyland, and we wanna know what you think.
I hope you all read along throughout the week and participate in some light convo about this gem of a story. #litereads
