A well-written, quirky story with oddly unique characters! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you‘re looking for big-time action adventure — this is not your book.
If your looking for a plot twist with a cliffhanger ending — this is not your book.
But... if your looking for a well-written, quirky story with oddly unique characters then, well, this IS your book!

Won from BookishFirst! I didn't realize it was the second in a trilogy, but it reads as a standalone. The author completely immerses us into the characters' lives. The writing is evocative, especially the descriptions of the weather and geography. I didn't want the book to end. Some fiction books are novels, and some are literature, and in my mind the two terms are not always interchangeable. LAURENTIAN DIVIDE is what I consider literature.
This is the 2nd book in a series but I enjoyed it on its own & had no trouble connecting with the characters. Being from MN the book felt authentic & comfortable; in some ways like Garrison Keillor‘s Lake Woebegone w/the small town feel, neighbors who‘d known each other for generations & neighbors who‘d been there for 25 years were still outsiders.

One of the books I‘m currently reading; 30% and enjoying it so far. This is the first book of hers I‘ve read and I think I‘ll be reading more of her. Thanks #NetGalley for gifting me with a copy of #LaurentianDivide to read in exchange for an honest review.
