Asking Questions | Ian MacKay, Krystyna Weinstein
2 posts
Asking Questions will help you ask the 'right' question to elicit a useful response. All managers need to hone their questioning skills, whether interviewing, appraising or simply exchanging ideas. This book offers guidance and helpful advice on: - using various forms of open question - including probing, simple interrogative, opinion-seeking, hypothetical, extension and precision - encouraging and drawing out speakers through supportive statements and interjections - establishing specific facts through closed or 'direct' approaches - avoiding counter-productive questions - using questions in a training context.

Not exactly a book post but I have a question for all you wonderful Littens. I will be reopening my Etsy shop in the new year, selling padded book sleeves, fabric bookmarks and eventually other bookish related items. When searching for book sleeves or bookmarks, what words would you use in your searches? What are some keywords or tags that you would associate with these items? All your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! 💕

CBee That‘s exciting! Can‘t wait to check out your shop 😊 Some tags I‘d probably use when searching: bookmark, book sleeve or book pouch, maybe bookish gifts? I‘ve typed in book sleeve before and gotten lots of hits. Good luck 🍀💚 2y
Chrissyreadit Book sleeve, but sometimes I get specific fantasy booksleeve, booksleeve with pocket etc 2y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Book sleeves, bookmarks, bookish gifts, gifts for book lovers, book lover. 2y

AmyG Let us know when it‘s back up. I have used the searches that the others posted. With bookmarks many times I am looking for specific ones-characters, authors etc and then I type i.e. Stephen King bookmarks. (edited) 2y
Karkar I usually use booksleeve as one word 🤪 book pouch book protection 2y
TheSpineView I like monogrammed stuff so I usually use book sleeve monogrammed or book sleeve pet design. Same with bookmarks and I sometimes search by color or use a seasonal prompt i.e. Halloween themed book sleeve. 2y
TheSpineView Let's us know when you are up and running again. Good luck! 2y

Hi all, I have a question. I‘ve just finished reading an ARC that‘s not listed in the Litsy database yet (out 11/6).

Is there a way to request this book be added or should I just wait around until it shows up in the database for my review?

I‘d rather not post a review under another book by that author...that‘s a bit confusing.

Has anyone run across this issue before? 🤷🏻‍♀️

scripturient They recently posted something about a website where you can update the database. Can‘t find the link at the moment but it was on the FB Litsy page as well. :) 6y
robinb @scripturient thank you...I‘ll track that down! 😊👍 6y
robinb @scripturient done and done! ✅✅ Thanks again for your help! 🤗 6y
