Miss Helma Zukas lives a well-ordered life. So regimented as to be quite boring. Fortunately, we meet Miss Zukas on a morning that does not go right - she forgot to close the sun curtains, she makes a mess, she is late for work, and finally she arrives at the library to find a police car in her spot and dead body in the fiction stacks.
Having been the only librarian to recognize the murder victim, Helma is uniquely situated to find a clue.
mabell Assisted by her best friend and antithesis, Ruth, Miss Zukas is drawn into the investigation (for certainly deductive reasoning is not solely the purview of the police, but a methodical mind could deduct just as well, or better.) As a result, she finds her well-ordered life begins to change. 3y
LeahBergen There it is! 👏🏻👏🏻 3y
mabell @LeahBergen I enjoyed it! Miss Zukas is definitely a unique protagonist. I‘m on the lookout for book 2! My local secondhand didn‘t have any in the series at all. I was surprised since it looks like there are quite a few. 3y

mabell @rubyslippersreads Being from the 90s, it‘s a little different from the modern cozies, which is fun! But being from the 90s, there don‘t seem to be many copies floating around! 3y
mabell @rubyslippersreads I should have said “current” rather than “modern” 😆 3y
