Pick!
Three “trash boys” living in poverty in a third world country find something amazing. The police and influential politicians all want to get their hands on it. The boys keep the secret of their mysterious treasure and stealthily attempt to figure out what it leads to.
Written as middle grade, but adults will enjoy it too.

This was full cast audio. It's really good. But it's MG/YA. It's a mystery/adventure. A young boy, a trash picker, finds a wallet, a key, and a map. And the police are also looking for it. That's where the adventure begins.

The place isn't named but I think it might be the Philippines. Or somewhere in that vicinity.

A murder mystery in an interesting setting. I would have loved this more if I had read it as a teenager. 2.5 stars

Read this one for my grad class- it was really interesting. Set in the near future in an unnamed third world country, it follows the lives of three young boys who live and work among the trash at the dump. One day they discover something among the trash that will change their lives forever. Definitely recommend.

I need to start this one- it is for my grad class. Never heard of it, but sounds interesting, and dark. I can‘t do dark today. So far this school year, I have had 2 former students die, and today, one of my favorites from last year brought a loaded hand gun to school. He‘s 18 and has been in trouble before. I‘m gutted. So, I‘m going to eat my cookie dough get sucked in to some mindless tv and hope tomorrow is a better day. 👇👇👇

AmberWB If you know any teachers, give them a hug. This is the kind of shit that no amount of schooling prepares us for, and there is so little support for educators who deal with this kind of stuff day in and day out. 6y

YES, YES, and YES. This is a book I hold very close to my heart because the author lived in my country and the unnamed country where the story takes place is no doubt my country. It wraps up the situation in my country while also spinning a tale of hope, honesty, and better tomorrows.
