Delete This at Your Peril: The Bob Servant Emails | Bob Servant, Neil Forsyth
5 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
This is an hilarious collection of email exchanges starring the anti-hero of spam, Bob Servant, now republished with previously unreleased material. Spam is the plague of the electronic age, comprising 90% of all emails sent and conning over 0150m a year from British victims. Into this wave of corruption steps the brave figure of Bob Servant - a former window cleaner and cheeseburger magnate with a love of wine, women and song as well as a keen sense of fair play. This wickedly funny and original book features the anarchic exchanges between Bob and the hapless spam merchants. As they offer Bob lost African millions, Russian brides and get-rich-quick scams he responds by generously offering some outlandish schemes of his own. The spammers may have breached his firewall, but they have met their match as Bob Servant rises heroically to the challenge, and sows confusion in his wake.

Mehso-so

This is book of email correspondence between Bob and a variety of email scammers. I can't believe how far Bob went in his emails. A funny read if a bit repetitive. I did this as an audiobook and I think the narrator added to the experience.

Pickpick

This was funny, very funny at times, and I could just picture Bob punching away at the keys sending off these absurd emails in response to the typical spam ones we all receive. It seemed nothing he said was too ridiculous for them to desist in their attempts to lure him to the nearest Western Union money transfer office. They did get a bit same same but different by the end though.

Hiding from both heat and children and reading this very funny book in emails. My chuckles will give me away if I‘m not careful.

Just about to board a light from Melbourne to Washington via LA, child free, and my Kindle died. Stuck on the search screen, can‘t switch off or go back to the home screen. It‘s going to be a long 26 hours.

rockpools Oh no, what a nightmare - good luck! I‘m sure you have, but have you held the off button down for the full 40 seconds? I seem to remember it did sort mine when it threw a hissy fit. 🤞 5y
mom2bugnbee I was going to suggest the same thing! Sometimes holding down the power button for what seems like a ridiculously long time works! 5y
TheLibrarian Yes, keep holding the off button till it shuts down. Other people I know had to wait longer than 40 seconds. 5y

Joanne1 @RachelO @mom2bugnbee @TheLibrarian thank you all. I got it going again, I had to hold it down for an eternity before it finally turned off. 5y
